Hi, I will see it in person probably in August. I had been thinking about a Pfaff Quilt Expression 5.0, but I do have an old Pfaff 7530 which has a lot of the same stitches, but not the new technology. The harp on my Pfaff machine is about 7.5 inches. The harp on the Viking Sapphire is 10 inches and it has some interesting feet that go with some new stitches. Also, there are many different decorative stitches that are different than what I have on my Pfaff. I also have a Brother Duetta 4500D that is a very nice sewing/embroidery machine, but the harp is only 8.2 inches. I think that I want to try out sewing in free motion quilting mode and a larger harp may make this technique easier to sew using a larger harp.

I have one and it's a beautiful machine. I've spent a lot of time already doing free motion on it, which it performed really well. It does have some wonderful deco stitches, including the very wide omnimotion ones. Do try those with that wide presser foot when you test drive one. You can consider it a TOL Viking without the embroidery capability. It makes a great cousin to my Pfaff Creative Sensation Pro as they can share some accessories (but not presser feet). It's also pretty solid but not so heavy as to remain at home when I need a really good class machine. It's wonderful having all those favorite features ready to travel (auto presser foot, great deco stitches, cutter, threader, etc.).

Let's just say all modern sms are well represented in my studio.

I have one, too! Last year I bought a Sapphire 875Q. It was the first Viking I ever owned. I love the ergonomics of the Vikings. The feet are lovely and sturdy. I traded up to the 960Q shortly after they came out. I wanted the ability to do updates and add new stitches with a USB stick. I love the screen on it also. Since I got the 960, I've pretty much lost interest in other machines that would not have auto presser foot lift/lower and cutter, along with a large foot pedal that can be simply tapped for needle up/down. It makes sewing practically effortless.
I have both the large acrylic extension table and the one that sets onto the machine with the curved front. I absolutely love that table. It has the perfect size workspace for just about anything without any legs get in the way.

I considered the Pfaff 5.0, as I still have some Pfaff feet leftover from my 7570 I sold but a good dealer is a 2 hour drive for me. Like KPM has, the only other machine I'd be interested in having is the Janome 9900 or its Elna twin; the Expressive 860 for embroidery and pretty 9mm stitches.

Let us know if you get/got to see one!
