A friend told me about massdrop.com, and that there is a sale there. You do have to join them, and I'm not sure how much email you'll get. I used an email addy I use just for these type things.
You get a choice of 3 or 4 different 12 spool sets for around $80, free shipping. Ends today.
I'm in no way affiliated, but I did purchase the Pat Sloan pack.

I explored, and you can vote on suggestions others have made. I voted on several in the crafting section. Then I guess you wait to see what happens. Massdrop contacts the manufacturer to see if they are willing to make a sale, once they get 200 votes.
A friend said she got the Osilo iron for $120.00 recently. Pretty cool idea.

Well I joined and bought the Lotus Pod Half Yard Bundle. I had just bought a 1/4 yd. of one of them at a local store, and would love to make a gift baby quilt with this.

I have way too many yards to count, and I will never use them up, but I will die trying!

I've mostly found that the multi-color thread sets don't really work for me. By the time I take out the colors that I'd never use and then divide that number of spools I would use into the total price, it just doesn't add up to any savings. The sets always seem to include colors that I already have and/or colors that I don't like.

Right, that's why I didn't order the multi color King Tut. I ordered what seemed to be pretty basic colors, the Pat Sloan kit. I already have several neutrals in Aurifil. Of course, some of mine kink like crazy, so I hope these dont!

You can always sell unwanted spools on SewItsForSale. Often, for a price below LQS prices but equal or more than you paid.
