I decided to get an entry level (Sofia 2 ) embroidery and sewing machine--I had gotten this for my niece and thought hmmmmm might just fancy one for myself! I'm pretty much a garment sewer but do make some purses and stuff.

I have put a few designs on t-shirts and a jean skirt, and am using it more than I thought I would. The machine is limited in size (max 4x4) but there is plenty out there to stitch up. Anyway after saying never never never I am really loving my machine!

Congratulations on your new "family" member!
It is fun, isn't it?
Now you will be thinking of all the quick gifts you can make, too!

I love to embroidery for my granddaughter. She loves everything
I make her. Her favorite is the kitty's I make on her t-shirts.
Have fun making lots of stuff with your new found hobby.

I wanted a portable machine so got the Brother 950. Decided if I was going to have another sewing machine, might as well get one that does "something else". I have done a few sets of linen tea towel type things - It is fun to play around with.

Congratulations! The Sophia 2 is a wonderful machine! I had one that I loved. I sold it and always regretted it. Now I have the next size up (embroidery only) but I'm still tossing around the idea of getting a Sophia again because it stitches out beautifully plus is the perfect size for travel sewing.
