What pattern did you use? I, too, am fascinated with making hats using fsl. This is the pattern I used FSL HAT

So far, perfection has eluded me. About three years ago I purchased a Babylock ($2000 range) but couldn't get the design to work. I traded the BL for a Pfaff Creative Vision, couldn't get the pattern to work.

Traded the PCV for a Pfaff Creative Sensation, couldn't get the pattern to work. I waited a year and finally bought a Babylock Elisimo Gold2. Purchased 4 spools of quilting thread ($20. each & $29.95 for the pattern) to finally make the perfect hat. I was sure working between the PCS and BEG2 I could produce the perfect hat.

Had to take both machines in for repair. Both were filled with fuzz from the thread even though I carefully cleaned them and one had to be aligned.

I looked at the same hats others have made from the pattern and am amazed at how they could do it. I won't be using heavy weight quilting thread for embroidery again any time soon.

Lessons learned:
The pattern was designed for tiny people.
The design CANNOT be altered in ANY software. (5D or Floriani)
Persistence does NOT always pay off.

I will continue to love both my sewing machines as they are fantastic machines. While this project seems to elude me, I will go back to making hats using the Vogue pattern that has never failed me.

I've made the turtle and the dragon fly earrings from this Anita Goodesign embroidery disc pak.

http://www.anitagoodesignonline.com/lace-jewelry/

I really liked the turtle. What's best about him, is the way his shell is, after you sew him out, you can add in by hand, some small seed beads into the shell between the stitchings there. I think having the beads and the stitching together, in something jewlery wise, makes it more interesting, also adding in some glass beads to stitched out earrings, I feel makes them a bit more heavy, and gives them a bit more "swing weight" on your ears, and I like that too.

I have made the fsl hat for my daughter.....
I used industrial water soluable mesh and used serger thread 100 per cent cotton. You have to use boiling water after embroidering which had the effect that the thread and so the size of the hat altogether shrank. So it is now my daughter's hat. Plus it is very scratchy and needs a lining of some sort but still looks fantastic.
The next thing I did was an angel and stars for our christmas tree. This in white looked fantastic.
Then I have seen a lace butterfly as an idea to cover your drink in the summer. Gorgeous or what? The same idea could be to connect them in order to make some sort of lace umbrella to cover the cake on the terrace or balcony, barbecue etc.
My next plan is to make a christmas setting which I have seen and fell in love with....
But also earrings. I love pearls maybe I can use them. I also love love lovw hoops...has anyone an idea on that?.....
(Wo)man I need to write everything done....
Greetings
