I am fairly new to embroidery but not new to sewing. I have upgraded by serger and sewing machine, and now it is time to purchase an embroidery machine. However, I am having a difficult time trying to figure out which one to buy! I went to the local shop and they suggested the Janome 6600 however I don't need that much "machine." I really just need an embroidery machine. Suggestions please!!!

Hi, Did you need an embroidery machine or a sewing machine? The Janome 6600 is only a sewing machine. Harriet

Hearty recommendation for Babylock. I have the Ellegante 3 which is sewing and embroidery, but they have some newer machines that are embroidery only, which might be more what you're looking for since you just upgraded your sewing machine.

New Ovation!! Now a Babylock girl almost all the way - Ellegante 3, Evolution, and Melody. Plus a Sailrite LSZ-1 for those heavy duty projects

Whoever told you to buy a Janome 6600 to do embroidery is just plain nuts! As was mentioned above, it's a sewing-only machine.
I ought to know.

I didn't think it was an embroidery machine but I smiled and nodded. To confirm, I am looking for an embroidery machine, preferably embroidery only since I did just get a new sewing machine.
Thanks all!

I've been very happy with my Brother Dreammaker. It's embroidery-only, has a huge field to work in, auto threads, cuts jump stitches, and stitches out beautifully.

I have been very happy with the Janome 350E. Very easy to use, not fussy about thread or needles and does beautiful embroidery. It is only one I have experience with so can't compare with others listed but you might want to check it out.
It is an embroidery only machine.

I wish the Dream maker had programmed in Disney. I love the Disney I have on my Brother 1250D, and would also love to have a larger hoop machine.

I don't really need all the extra sewing features though. I have more than enough on the Brother and also my small Pfaff for the garment making I do.

I have the Brother DreamCreator, which is a combo machine and part of the same line as the DreamMaker. I love the embroidery I get with it, so I would recommend the DreamMaker as well, if you're just looking for an embroidery only machine. Good luck!
