So, M6841 only gives the fabric amount needed for 60" wide cloth. The cloth I would like to buy for it is 45" wide.

The drapiness of the pattern gave me pause, and made me wonder if only 60" would be appropriate for this pattern, due to the large amount of draping and pleating involved.

Help, as always, is most appreciated!

There is probably a pattern piece that won't fit on 45" wide fabric. Do you have the pattern? Can you look at the pieces and see if one is wider than 45"?

I'd agree that there is probably a large bias cut piece that won't fit on a 45" fabric

I can see, the reason there is no 45" wide yardage for view B long sleeves there, is they do expect you to even make it out of a knit, and knits just come 54 to 60" inches wide most times. So McCalls thinks view B with sleeves is unsuitable for a woven even. so they probably figured why even bother to list any 45" wide yardage for it, if knits are almost always 54 to 60 inches now instead.

They were trying to tell you that with the:

SUGGESTED FABRICS: Moderate Stretch Knits: Jerseys and Cotton Knit. Also for A: Chiffon, Georgette and Sheer Knits.

On the back of the pattern envelope. The problem is it's confusing when they put it like that, as they also say Designed for Medium Weight Wovens and Knits, right above that.

So maybe it should have said something like View A for knits and a very few select wovens and view B for knits only, and maybe that would have been more clear.

I think you can try/attempt to make anything out of anything you want though. You might have to piece and the sleeves look like they might be a bit too narrow and restrictive to move in, in not a stretchy knit though.

Find a tutorial on making two/three piece sleeves. That might solve a problem... or create two more.

The front and sleeve are one piece and is unlikely to fit on 45". The pattern view with sleeves DEFINITELY requires a knit and few knits are 45". I think the sleeveless views may fit a narrower fabric.
