I'd love to use soutache braid, especially the metallics, on some collars and cuffs... any hints on how to attach the stuff? It seems really stiff, and doesn't want to go in the curly pattern!

Here's what I'm looking to do, something along these lines:

Thanks!

I sew a lot with soutache and I use a cording foot. It gives me great control and I move the fabric, not the braid. I typically couch it on with clear thread and a zigzag stitch, but the foot would allow you to sew down the middle, as well.

The foot isn't terribly expensive and I really recommend it.

I have a foot made for sewing on soutache, the braid fits underneath the foot and there is a small hole on top that where the needle sews down the middle. I 've had it for many years, but Creative Feet makes a sequin and ribbon foot that holds trim and stitches down the middle
