What purplepeach likes about this machine
This is a really great machine. It is easy to thread with the auto-threader.
The stitching is great and so many to combine them. I did comparison shopping before I bought and talked to sewers at the various stores. I was looking at singer 7462 however for the money and extras this was the choice for me. I took it out of the box threaded the machine and it was ready to go. Taking time to read and review the instructions is very helpful. As someone who hadn't sewn in a while, I wanted to get a machine that would give me most of the stitches I wanted and be durable if made mistakes. This is a great machine so far. Feature wise it's right up there with the Janome Jem Platinum 760 and you get more accessories. Did I mention the extension table which make it really nice if you work in a limited space. So far I am impressed.

What purplepeach does not like about this machine
The bobbin sometimes get jammed. The light could be a little brighter.
However, I solved this problem with a flexible desk lamp.

AngieM21/23/08It is the exact same design and features as the Babylock Xscape that I had for about a month. I traded the Xscape in as I just didn't bond with it, but it sewed just fine and had lots of good stitches. Your machine has fascinated me because it is such a different price for a machine that looks and has features of a much more expensive one. AngieM2

bestgrammy1/24/08Have you tried the adjustable presser foot pressure, is it a 3/4 sm, when does the bobbin jam, and how is it sewing through thick layers?

Ms Beau1/24/08I have had this machine for less than a year and I just took it out and worked with it a couple of days ago for the first time to see how it worked, and you beat me to the draw in commenting on this machine (-: I have other machines but they are too heavy to carry around to sewing classes. I bought this one because someone recommended it because it was lightweight. I does everything that most much more expensive machines will do and I was impressed by the needle threader and all of the beautiful decorative stitches. Did you try the buttonholer? It is great and easy to use. The price was right too; $219. Enjoy it. I highly recommended it for people who are tired of lifting our heavy, and most expensive sewing machines and taking them to classes.

purplepeach1/30/08I bought a walking foot and it sews perfectly through layers. I love this machine!! The bobbin got jammed but I think It was me since I WROTE THAT I haven't had any more problems. The pressure foot works fine for me.

Debbo2/18/08I have this machine and am trying to get it to free motion quilt. My embroidery foot from my janome wont fit - does anyone know what kind of foot will fit this machine?

purplepeach2/18/08Yes you can go to JOANN"S and get a walking foot or any other foot you may need. I also got feet from All Brands.com. They are low shank snap on feet and they fit the Kenmore I just bought , they are universal to Kenmore , White and Brother. I'm not sure who else.

Debbo2/24/08I checked out the darning foot for free motion quilting, and it will not work. It's a low shank foot, but is still too tall. The walking foot works just fine. I also really like this machine, but was hoping to be able to free motion quilt. Not sure what to do at this point. Any suggestions?
