What Sewing Diva Susan likes about this machine
This machine is fantantastic! I had the Janome 6500P but really wanted a free arm with the same features, well the Quest was the answer! It truly is a wonderful machine. And I got a great price for it, I bought one from a dealership that was traded back one month after it was bought as the lady wanted a machine that also did embroidery, so she got a different babylock machine. I work for a dealership, so I am some what of a machine junky. But hey I could collect something that just collects dust, oh wait I do, but that is a whole different subject, I collect waterglobes. Anyway back to this wonderful machine, I love it so much I have almost convinced myself to let go of my Janome 6500P, but not yet. I have a three bedroom house, and 2 of the bedrooms are sewing rooms. Now if I get much more I will need to give up my bedroom. Happy sewing all!

What Sewing Diva Susan does not like about this machine
Nothing, I just love this machine.

carol kay1/30/08Thank you for this review. I have been wanting more information on this machine. Am trying to decide between this or the Espire. I like the built in dual feed and the large amount of stitches. What has worried me is there were some negative coments on a thread about this machine awhile back . Something about the reverse not working well and it coming unthreaded. Have you tried to do free motion quilting with this machine? Thanks again.

Loiry1/30/08As a huge Babylock fan, I am pleased to read a positive review for the Quest. The early ones were not positive and that made me sad. I own the Imagine serger and the New Esante combo machine and have owned the Espree` embroidery-only machine and the ESe2 Esante. I think Babylock products are great and now you have given me hope that the Quest will turn out to be great as well. Thanks for the nice review.

Kylnne21/30/08It is nice to hear a postive review on the Quest. I tried it out quickly when I was last at the dealers. Can you tell us what it is other than the free arm on the Quest that you like more than your 6500?

Celeste1/31/08Whew! I was hoping this machine would turn out well. Maybe they worked out some glitches!! I have a simple Babylock electronic and an Imagine serger. Looking to upgrade my machine at some point in the near future but wasn't sure the Quest was turning out well. Thanks for your comments!!

Susan Bartley2/2/08OK here goes, the 6500p hesitates when you start sewing, the Quest does not. I have had no problem what so ever with this machine. Not the treading or anything. I have done free motion quilting with it, and I am very pleased. So far so good!

carol kay2/2/08I'm so glad to hear this machine is working out well. Have been doing my homework and intend to test drive both the Espire and Quest in the next couple of weeks. I am retired and want to make the right decision on this machine so am taking my time and plan to check them both out before I buy. I do alot of quilting but have my grandaughter full time so think the abundance of stitches would be helpful when sewing for her. Have heard so many good things about the Babylock machines. Thanks again for this review and answering my questions.

sewmuch2dohotmail2/28/08How do you do free motion with this machine? The metal darning foot is not conducive.

ktsews23/2/08Thank you for your review. Like the others I had heard some things about the Quest that weren't so good so I am glad to read they worked out some of the problems. I currently have an Ellegante and love it, but am looking for a machine to just use for quilting. My Ellegante does not like some of the metallic threads, especially doing free motion so I am wondering if you have used the metallic ribbon thread. I tested a Janome recently and liked the accufeed feature. I plan to try a Quest and see how they differ before I make my choice. I believe the Janome is more expensive. Thanks for any additional info.

Sewing Diva Susan3/11/08I think as in with many other machines when they are new out the gate they have their share of problems. I think that they are just in too big of a hurry to get the machines out there. I think of the Pfaff 2170 Embroidry/Sewing machine, I work in a dealership that carries Pfaff and when this machine came out they had lots of problems. But they did get them ironed out. The problem was they wanted to get the machine out there before the holidays and that was the price they paid. But this machine is a real jewel! (I won't say gem since that is a Janome! LOL)

sarads4/15/08I'm glad to hear great news on the Quest. I have the janome 6600 but there are a few things I'm not happy with. My dealer is working with me for the trade. I already own the Ellegante, I just love sewing/embroidery on this machine. I have the serger old evolve. I like the dual feed and free arm, the janome doesn't have. Donna

momplus45/13/08I, too, purchased the Quest, and I have been almost completely satisfied. The only hangup I have is that the needle frequently skips stitches while I am doing free motion quilting. I have contacted Babylock about the matter and am waiting to hear back from them. Other than this problem, I would recommend this to anyone.
