What ski likes about this machine
i wanted a basic machine that could 'make' a good buttonhole. and i wanted it computerized. i got both with this model. it makes a nice, neat buttonhole offering several different styles. i have had some difficulties with the machine. it's new and different from my old janome (that was mechanical). i get better accquainted with my new machine every time i use it. well worth the price...a demo on sale too!

What ski does not like about this machine
still can't figure out the needle threader. i was able to do it in my 'class' but then i got home and forgot. frankly, i can live without the needle threader. the instructional booklet could be better. i actually got one that was for the next model up so i see stuff in the booklet and wondering where it is on my machine.

jent2/24/08I have a pfaff 2124 and I think the threaders are the same. It's really simple. Just push the threader down so that the small hook goes through your needle. As your bring your thread down guide it around and under the threader and make sure the little hook grabs the thread. Then let go of the threader - it should draw your thread right through the needle. I went from a mechanical Janome to my Pfaff too. It takes some getting used to - to have a computerized machine, but you will be amazed at how well it sews. Hope that helps!

lindrix2/25/08Jent is right, the Pfaff threaders are all the same. Just make sure to have your needle at it's lowest point. The thread goes down, under the hook, then to the left.

chemmom2/27/08I never used the needle threader, but now that I need bifocals I can't see the hole. So I am using it all the time. I put my needle at the down, bring down the needle threader and push it for ward so the hook goes through the eye of the needle. (You can tell if the needle is not in the right position as the hook will hit the needle) I then pass the tread under the guide that sticks out on the front of the needle threader (from left to right) and pull the thread slightly up on the right. I can feel it catch the hook, then I let go of the needle threader, it snaps back and pulls the thread through the eye. If I let it go too slow it sometimes won't pull enough of the thread through.
