| | What kke likes about this machine I love this machine. It embroiders very well. I've done alot of embroidery and I have downloaded a ton of embroideries. I have people asking me to embroider something for them all the time. Color changes are a snap and replacing the bobbin while embroidering is easy. The computer softwear was difficult at first but I paid extra for SOS (softwear support) and it was well worth it. I quilt quite a bit on it also. I own several machines and this one by far is my favorite. It will sew very heavy fabrics and the lightest fabrics with no problems. What kke does not like about this machine Some times it gets jammed when I use the thread cutter and I start to sew again especially when I have the fix button engaged. The thread tails seem to knot up on the underside. Any suggestions. | *LOGIN to add a comment to this review *Only registered members can post comments to the reviews. | Reader Comments | | johnr55 | 4/5/08 | I'm delighted you are enjoying your machine, especially at that price! Should you decide to try traditional machine embroidery rather than this passive stuff, pm me. There is a whole world of embroidery possibilities that doesn't rely on computer simulations. | | * * * | | Braemar | 4/6/08 | I also have this problem with the thread cutter! I have to remember to swipe the thread from under the foot before stitching. I have stopped using the thread cutter when sewing, and just use it when embroidering as it doesn't affect this! It is as if it gets wrapped around the feed dogs. | | * * * | | marycds | 4/7/08 | I had to have the tech do a little adjustment to the feed dogs for this problem. I was also having problems when doing free motion in the V menu. The thread seemed to get hung up on the feed dogs. Since the adjustments- no problems at all! I get lots of info on these glitches from the Designer 1 group on Yahoo. | | * * * | | Asknyla | 4/14/08 | I loved my D1. I then I traded it for a Janome MC11000. I had the trouble of thread jam after I used my thread cutter on the D1 also. It's my desire to get a Designer SE Limited. However I have ended up with another D1. I'm going to have this D1 upgraded with USB. | | * * * |
