| Ratkins | 5/5/08 | I'm curious, did you take it into your dealer? If you did, what did they say? I'm at the 8 month mark with my 850, have had no tension issues, but I did break a lot of needles, and yesterday I had an unexplainable motor overload :( Janet |

| Jami1960 | 5/5/08 | I am not sure what a 530 model is...similar to the Sapphire? Sorry you're having troubles. It seems there are good Sapphires and bad ones with tension issues. Mine tension problems are resolved and I can even use "inferior" thread now but it doesn't give the nice quality of stitch that the better thread gives. I'm just using up my old store of thread as I switch over to better brands. I've never seen the overheating message but have had motor overload on really heavy fabrics/jeans. It really sounds like your dealer needs to replace your machine. I hope you get satisfaction. |

| SewbeHappy | 5/5/08 | It is frustrating to have machine problems. I have a Sapphire 830 also. I love it, except for the bobbin winding. It doesnt do bobbins well. I love the sensor system and occasionally it does go into overload but asks you to wait while it recoups. I've been using it regularly for 6 months. Take your machine to your dealer...use your one year warranty options. You may have gotten a lemon. It happens. |

| Warm Dove | 5/5/08 | I am sorry you are experiencing tension and motor problems with the machine. I agree with the others, take it back and get the machine replaced or fixed. Motor problems were also reported on the Yahoo Group for this machine as well. But it did not seem as frequent as the tension issues. I agree with the others. Take the machine back to the dealer and have it replaced or fixed. Otherwise, the machine seems perfect for your purposes. I wish you success in resolving any issues serving as barrier to the full enjoyment of your machine. |

| Judib | 5/6/08 | Thanks so much for all you ideas. I waited this long as my dealer went out of business shortly after I bought the machine . I finally got so frustrated I went to a dealer far away, who did take in the machine. Note that I did not start haveing tension problems first. It started with the motor overload message and just a few months ago the tension mess started. Then for a while I thought it was my fault. Sure have changed my mind about that. I will keep you posted on the sucess of the repair.

| Celeste | 5/6/08 | for this kind of money you can buy a legendary Bernina 1130, 1230, 1260 or 930 and you will have a queen of machines!! If you don't believe me read the reviews for these machines. I got one on ebay a few months ago and HEAVEN!!!!! I spent the best $950 I will ever spend on a machine. Came with a good array of feet and nothing in the world beats the Bernina feet. They do their little jobs better than any other feet and I have two other machines to prove it. |

| Judib | 5/6/08 | I got my machine back. The dealer is saying that some of the Sapphire's come from the factory with very tight tension settings. They also said that the technician could not make the motor overload. So that is where it is for right now.

| Celeste | 5/7/08 | I know of a very good master technician in the Orlando area who can work on anything and is good at getting to the bottom of problems. If you'd like his phone number email me and I will give it to you. He is very honest and a phone call to him might give you some basic answers. And you might ask if Viking can be charged for any service if it is still under warranty. katzkratch@hotmail.com |
