| | What Loralye2 likes about this machine I have owned the Designer 1 for about one and one half years and absolute love it. My embroidery comes out perfect every time and regular sewing is a dream. You get the typical problems as you do with just about every home machine out there, but usually it is my error. I have owned several different machines, such as a Janome basic machine, a Montgomery Ward computerized model (back in the '80s, which I loved) and a Euro Pro (junk). This machine really is a dream and I have finished projects that I have not been able to finish on my other machines. The needle threader is cool as well as the auto lift feature. When you are quilting, this feature is especially useful. I can't say enough about it. I also own a Quilt Designer, which I love. I have not had any problems with either machine. I sit down and I sew and they WORK! I love that I don't have to guess at setting the tensions or fight with the machines as I was never really good at that. Your machine will make or break your enthusiasm for sewing. I had lost the joy of sewing due to constant frustration. It just simply wasn't worth it too me to get my blood pressure up from jamming machines, which were not easy to get back and forth from a repair shop (if they could be repaired), when you have hundreds of dollars in supplies (fabrics, threads, notions, MACHINES, etc.), and you can't get the project finished. Now, I'm finally finishing those unfinished projects and starting new ones. What more can I say? This machine is definitely worth it and I have the ability to embroider. These machines are a sewers best friend. They really are! What Loralye2 does not like about this machine The accessories are extremely expensive, but if the machine works, then the accessories are worth the price. Only buy what you NEED! I spent a lot of money on accessories I don't use! I will sell some of the accessories off to get the ones that I know I will use. | *LOGIN to add a comment to this review *Only registered members can post comments to the reviews. | Reader Comments | | mufffet | 5/14/08 | Thanks for the good review - I hear you on the accessories. :) I have not gone nuts on that on my Vikings - in fact, I have bought four extra feet and that's it. All I need so far. | | * * * | | Asknyla | 5/15/08 | I completely agree with you. The accessories prices will break the bank. I had the Mega Hoop with mines but I can not find it. I don't think I will replace it. The price is too high. I do like the endless hoop, but I don't know if I will buy it,since I won't use it much. | | * * * | | MaryJO70 | 5/26/08 | I agree wholeheartlty the accessories or very expensive. | | * * * | | MaryJO70 | 5/26/08 | I agree wholeheartlty the accessories or very expensive. | | * * * |
