What dbsewer likes about this machine
I bought this machine as a back-up that I could take to classes and not worry if it got banged up a little. I soon fell so in love with this machine that I decided it wouldn't get banged up - ever. This is such a wonderful little workhorse and it's the cutest thing with all those buttons. I don't know if a picture will show up. I dubbed it my "Blue Betty." It does a huge variety of stitches, nothing fancy, but you can do some basic embroidery and it handles just about every fabric you can throw at it. There is a stitch chart under the lid and the manual lists them all. It also has the IDT function which I found very useful. I made three unlined coats and a couple of knit tops on this machine. It's a mechanical, so don't expect bells and whistles. On the other hand, it's sort of "dummy proof" and the manual is so easy and clear I ddn't bother taking classes. It's too bad Pfaff no longer makes this model but I've seen them on ebay for a reasonable price.

What dbsewer does not like about this machine
That I had to sell it :( because I got my Viking #1 back and I'm in a smaller house now so I had to relinquish one machine. But it's gone to a good home where I can visit it anytime I want.

dbsewer7/14/08I don't know why the prices never show up on my reviews. I paid $950 for this.

tashainflorence7/14/08I bought this same machine and it was 'branded' a Pfaff select 1548. They still make it but call it the Pfaff select 4.0. I love my machine, basically taught myself to sew on it so it must be dummy proof.

Twisted Kitty10/1/08Pfaff and Husqvarna/Viking are owned by the same company, hence the many sister machines with only minor differences - kinda like Chevy and Pontiac.
