| Reader Comments | | misscoleen | 7/16/08 | Hi, I have this machine and love it also. I haven't really used the monogramming much but i do know that they are only one size - very basic. This is a great machine but if you are going to be using the monogramming you will be limited in your creativity. Enjoy :) | | * * * | | sewonandsewforth | 7/16/08 | I have read many raving reviews for this machine and I do believe it's a great one, but IMO, the only good monogramming comes with a machine that does embroidery with a hoop whether it be a combo machine or a stand-alone. I've never had a sewing machine with built-in alphabets that pleased me. Can you afford to get an embroidery-only machine and some software? If you do a lot of monogramming I think that's what you need and use your Kenmore strictly for sewing. | | * * * | | dbsewer | 7/16/08 | This isn't really a review, though. You might try going on the boards to see if anyone can help you or sending a pem to someone who has done a previous review. | | * * * | | bestgrammy | 7/17/08 | Welcome to PR. Come on...tell us what you love about your sewing machine. | | * * * | | Mufffet | 7/20/08 | The machine makes its lettering rather large actually. About a quarter of an inch in height for the capitals. If you follow the manual it explains quite well how to make the lettering. Be sure you have it on the correct *mode* setting - also in the manual. Yes, do let us know how you like the machine in awhile. As to doing monogramming on a mechanical machine - it is a bit difficult. You should find the lettering on the Kenmore to be nice! If you use a little stabilizer under the piece you are lettering it is even better - I only used regular thread, as I was only putting kids names on the garments I lettered on, but I was satisfied with the lettering. | | * * * |
