| | What weaser likes about this machine It is a very user friendly computer machine. Have enjoyed playing with the various stitches. What weaser does not like about this machine While in the embroidery mode, the machine would shut down and then reboot itself. If any changes were made to the design and not saved, they were lost (which is probably normal). Have taken it to the dealer many times and finally the tech was able to have the machine shut down and then reboot. It had been in the shop for 2 weeks waiting on a part and that didn't fix the problem. Still in the shop 4 more weeks waiting on motor and motherboard to see if that will fix the problem. Viking says the part really comes from Sweden by BOAT. It's hard to believe it takes so long to get the machine fixed. Not sure I would recommend it because neither Viking or my dealer have been very customer oriented to my satisfaction. | *LOGIN to add a comment to this review *Only registered members can post comments to the reviews. | Reader Comments | | FlyGuy2 | 7/16/08 | GO IN TO THE STORE AND DEMAND EITHER A LOANER OR A NEW MACHINE. I went through this with a friend of mine she didn't get her machine back for almost 2 months and when she did they never fixed it. So she ended up getting her money back and buying a Bernina. | | * * * | | JEF6 | 7/16/08 | I have an SE. I have never had a rebut problem with embrodiery. I love my machine and have a very helpful dealer and service department. I would suggest finding a good dealer and service department when looking at a machine. So many machines are great and the service is the key. Good luck finding your perfect machine. | | * * * | | sewonandsewforth | 7/16/08 | Every brand/model of machines have their lemons and it surely sounds as though you got one. I've never had a problem until now and my BL Esante is currently in hospital with the BL techs. It has been gone for two weeks and I figure after a month I will be asking when she will be coming home. I am using my backup Janome 2040 for sewing and have no need/desire to embroider at the moment so no withdrawal pangs there. | | * * * | | downs | 7/16/08 | I had a Designer 1 that was in the shop 3 times for a circuit board. Finally dealer gave me her demo and it worked from then on no more repairs. I have a Designer SE now as I traded my other one for this one.. | | * * * | | Peggy | 7/16/08 | I think your machine would qualify as a "lemon" under the lemon law. I would ask for a different machine too. | | * * * | | PoppyB | 7/17/08 | I hope you get a good resolution to this. I love my SE, and am grateful things have gone well with it. There sure seems to be a difference between dealers and also repair folk, as far as customer relations, knowledge, and speed of service. Hard to know that when we buy, though. Good luck. | | * * * |
