What Carla does not like about this machine
Help! Have Janome 1600P on a Grace Pro Frame. After about 100 stitches the top thread shreads and breaks. I have the correct needles, We are threaded correctly... both bobbin & spool. I am on my third brand of thread (R/A right now). I have adjusted the foot pressure from 0 to 2.5. I have adjusted the heights of my rails. It seems as though the thread tension gets tighter as I sew, therefore shreading & breaking occurs? Any thoughts or ideas?

Peggy L 6/10/09Carla - you'll get more help if you take your questions over to the message board. There's a tab at the top of the page to take you there.

sew2006 6/10/09Try a top stitching needle size 16 and make sure the speed of the machine is set at 1/2 speed.

Home Fashions U 6/12/09Carla, I have the 1600P the more expensive model and I have never had a problem, I would return it to the store you purchased if from and make them adjust it, if this has happen from the beginning there is something wrong with the machine. I have heard they are discontinuing the 2 lesser models.

JY 6/25/09Have you tried Bottom Line bobbin thread? I think it is by Superior.

boomertug 7/1/09Carla, are you threading your machine with the presser foot up? If you thread it with the presser foot down, the tension will be off. Just a thought...Suzette
