| | What denise4517 likes about this machine I don't think I'm adding anything new to the other reviews of this machine, but there aren't too many. I purchased this on eBay after reading the other reviews. For what I paid I've been more than impressed with the performance.
This machine seems really durable and solid, and sews fast and maintains a straight line. Once everything is set, it's good to go and does a nice job of 5-th and 4-th overlocking and a very nice rolled hem. (I have yet to try the coverstitch.) It handles all kinds of fabrics well, except for very light, delicate fabrics using a 3-th overlock (as it pulls the fabric down into the needle plate), but a 5-th overlock is fine. What denise4517 does not like about this machine This is my first serger, but it seems like it takes a lot of work and testing to get the tension right, and checking that a rogue thread hasn't popped out of its place. Of course, switching between different stitches takes some effort. The 3-th overlock seems wide to me. Sometimes the cutting blade seems to cut a bit too close, resulting in the looper threads extending beyond the fabric (maybe with wovens that's how it's supposed to be), but after a wash, it looks just fine. Maybe I need to adjust something. | *LOGIN to add a comment to this review *Only registered members can post comments to the reviews.
