I just purchase this machine and it should arrive soon. I read the reviews that you have and it sounds really great! However, the first review said that they didn't like the ped for it. how about embird? or another that is acceptable? I really got this because my white 3100 doesn't have the emboridery options. I do like my old machine too, but I needed more. I wish I could get the brothers new Quattro,but too expenisive. Can't wait for this one to come in. I will do a new review on it as soon as I can. What zekebit does not like about this machine

You might want to post under the sewing machine tab since you don't have the machine yet and I'm sure others will chime in :) I have this machine and did purchase PED-Basic to get other designs to the machine and is very easy to use. PED comes with a card reader box, transfer card, cable to hook to your computer and some extra designs on it. There are other reader boxes out there but for a brother machine this is the cheapest route to go. I also have Embird and that is editing software. LOVE it! Wouldn't be without it! ... Embird will not send the design to your machines proprietary card without an interface such as PED Basic or another reader box. This machine cannot be hooked up to your computer so if you want additional designs for embroidery you will need something. It's a great machine for the price, I've been pleased with all the stitch functions and embroidery on it. PED Basic is almost a given if you want more designs....tons of freebies and some great designs on the net! You will love the machine!!
