| | What Kymberlee likes about this machine Love that there are so many stitches to choose from and the price was right for a starter machine. It comes with ALL of the feet you will ever need for this basic machine. Do NOT waste your cash going to buy bobbins from the Brother dealer though, or you will be paying a buck a bobbin, go to your local Wal-Mart, if you are lucky like I am, who now carries Brother bobbins that fit "all Brother machines" and they are 8 for 2.99!!
I would recommend this machine for anyone who is just getting started, or for someone that wants a second machine to take with them for retreats or to do second projects on. It's awesome and I am sure I will have this machine for a long time to come. My sister bought this same machine when she started sewing 9 years ago, and while it was a little different than the one I bought 6 months ago, it is basically the same, and she still uses it even though she has a big bad boy that she shucked out several grand for! The new machine she has now could bury her old Brother, but she still uses the Brother for things, and it's still going strong, it's a workhorse! What Kymberlee does not like about this machine The bobbin threader is very unpredictable and Brother makes this model only for COSTCO so it can be confusing when you are looking for things for it, but the great thing is that it came with every foot known to God and man, so you save a TON of cash since you don't have to buy any other feet for it as far as I can tell right now. | *LOGIN to add a comment to this review *Only registered members can post comments to the reviews. | Reader Comments | | mola marie | 10/9/09 | Thank You! I'm thinking of buying a sedwing machine from Costco, rather than a sewing machine store, in order to save money. I know how to sew, but my 20 yr.+ machine lacks several features that the sewing machine at Costco has (and more!!). Thanks for the vote of confidence. | | * * * |
