| bitofagypsy | 9/15/09 | I have 2 of these and 1 I've had for 25 years and it's all I used years before I got my Janome 10000. Talk about a leap! I had worn out 4 new machines before I got these and out of 14 sewing machines including my Viking Designer Diamond, this is the one I'd keep.
They sew a perfect straight stitch that is beautiful. It is a work of art for simplicity and function. When I clean and maintain it I am always amazed at how simple the machine is and marvel at what it can do and has done. Like you said "...will probably still be sewing when I'm pushing up daises. Thank you for your review |

| catsmeow | 9/15/09 | This is one of the machines on my wish list. I have a friend who wanted to sew canvas slipcovers for her furniture, and purchased a 201-2. It did a fine job of the project, and my friend just loves this machine. I've been wanting one for a while now because I want to sew slipcovers for my sofa (like I "need" another machine!). |

| fourkid | 9/16/09 | Wow - what a find. $1.50 is amazing. I *love* my 201-2. It was my Grandmother's. My daughter and I go back an forth on who gets to sew on it. It sounds so nice and sews so smoothly - and makes great buttonholes. Congratulations! - and those of you still looking for one - keep hunting, you won't regret it. |

| Nurse Jane | 9/16/09 | I have the chance to have the 201 my mother bought when I was in the 8th grade. ( I so wanted a zig-zag machine). My sister is holding it for me. The question is, where shall I put it? I hadn't wanted it until I started reading these reviews. My "thing" has been the 221's. (I'm up to 6.) Thanks for enabling! And I'm dying to check out that perfest straight stitch every raves about. |

| Race | 9/16/09 | I love my 201. I got it completely by accident because I was interested in the cool art deco cabinet it was in. When I took it in to get it worked on the shop convinced me to buy a new Phaff (I had just taken up sewing) which I really liked until my 201 came back. I sew on 201 all the time expect when I need to zigzag. The 201 just feels right somehow, my partner says it makes a very comforting sound. |

| Lil Flo | 9/20/09 | Can anyone tell me if you can free-motion quilt on this sm? Thanks, Flo |

| Celeste | 9/21/09 | I have read that you can free motion quilt without lowering the feed dogs by setting stitch length to zero. Decrease the tension on the presser foot if you can, on this machine..... you may not HAVE to lower the feed dogs. |

| Lil Flo | 10/7/09 | Well I think I hit the jackpot today. I found a 15-91 at a flea market for $10 today. It is in excellent shape. I will have it rewired and cleaned tomorrow. I'm so excited. I looked all day and was about to give up and then viola, there she was. I'm so excited. |
