What maespinoza28 likes about this machine
I have the F600. So far I love everything about it! It sews like a dream. It runs quiet and smooth. Comes with a variety of stitches that I'm still working on trying out. Check out my stitches so far! I have 6 photos and haven't even gotten to the fonts yet!

As soon as I'm done trying every feature out, I'll start working on my quilt blocks again. I may need to have it serviced whenever I get done with all these stitches! I'm telling you it's been running like crazy on the weekends, sometimes most of the day. With the stitching I've done so far I've used almost two complete spools of thread making these examples. I'm really glad I started stitching out all these decorative stitches. I have a hard copy now of what this machine can do and I've already got several projects in mind where I'd like to use some of these stitches.

What maespinoza28 does not like about this machine
Too bad this machine didn't come with an embroidery arm attached! That's the only thing I'm missing on it because it does just about everything else. I would have enjoyed a longer arm for quilting, but I really can't complain about this machine.

Mufffet 9/20/09I enjoyed looking at your stitched out samples! Excellent. Some really nice stitches here that i haven't seen on any other machine. WOW.

Debbo 9/20/09I just finished making a quilted oven mitt with thermal batting on this machine and it worked beautifully. It was a batik material with batik patterns like patchwork so I did crazy quilt stitches. I love the stitch selection on this machine because they are different than on any other machine I've seen. Very well suited to quilting. I used the walking foot, the locking stitch, the threader, the thread cutter, and everything worked perfectly. Felt very sturdy. Motor sounds quiet. One more inch in the arm would have been nice, but I'll take 8 inches. I like the features on this machine better than the Janome 6600, I think.

Lil Flo 9/20/09maespinoza28, could you be more specific about what you do with this machine? Have you tried Free-motion quilting and if so, what do you think? I am having my sm guy order me one of these, but really wanted to hear what people have to say about this machine. I mostly do quilts. Not much garmet sewing. I did ask someone if it had a fix (tie off) button and was told it did. I would like to know for sure, does it have one?

Franksdottir 9/20/09I think this is an extremely attractive machine, and I am so glad that you wrote this review. I loved all of the pictures of the stitches - and oh my, some of them are just wonderful.

maespinoza28 9/21/09l Flo. I haven't done much on this machine yet. I wanted to try all the stitches first. I have started some quilt blocks. I also have some tee shirt tops to be made and pants. But those were put on hold to stitch out all the stitches. It has done a great straight stitch on my blocks though. It's going to be a king sized quilt.

Lil Flo 9/22/09maespinoza28, I understand you haven't done much on your new machine yet, but can you please tell me if it has a fix (tie off) button? Thanks

maespinoza28 9/23/09Lil Flo, yes it has a locking stitch for the decorative stitches.

Lil Flo 9/23/09maespinoza28, thanks for clearing that up for me. I looked at your photos. It looks like you are having fun with your new toy. Love the carry case and purse. I will be ordering one of these in the next month or so. Happy sewing!!!!!!!

kaky 9/26/09You didn't say how much you paid for it. Is that allowed?
* * *
maespinoza28 9/26/09Those of us who ordered with SMP got a good deal with it, and only paid $1089. I think Ken's Vacum Sewing Center (something like that?) has it right now for $999, which is a better deal!

johnr55 9/27/09Try doing your embroidery freehand like us old-timers.

Juls12 9/29/09maespinoza28: I've been wondering about this machine... I am assuming that it only does 1/4 inch fonts, correct?

Nonette 9/30/09maespinoza, Ken' Sewing on eBay has the F300 for $999. Do you have the F600 or the F300?
* * *
Lil Flo 9/30/09I called Ken's sew and vac and all the F series, F300, F400 and F600 are all on sale for $999 now. My local dealer matched it and I have one on order. Yeh!!!

maespinoza28 9/30/09Nonette- I have the F600. It's fabulous!! You'll love it!

Lil Flo 10/2/09maespinoza28, I saw you had reviewed a Brother Project Runway sm. Do you prefer this one. Did you not like the brother? I want one mostly for quilting. I have a Juki TL 98Q, but want a machine with decorative stitches. Which do you prefer?
* * *
maespinoza28 10/3/09Lil Flo, there is NO comparision between the Juki F600 and the Brother Runway 294 stitches. The Brother is a great machine for taking to classes and you don't want to carry something heavy, but this Juki is the workhorse. You get better secure stitches with the Juki. I'm even tempted to get the TL98Q. But this one does a straight stitch, so I can't imagine what the quilting Juki does that this one won't. I'm working on quilt blocks right now and it's great. I also just attached binding to a king sized quilt and it went through the Juki like butter. No problems with sewing those teeny tiny stitches when the bulk makes it too heavy to move under the machine.

Lil Flo 10/3/09maespinoza28, Thanks for getting back to me so fast. As I told you I have one of these on order. It usually takes my guy 2 or 3 weeks. Anyway, I don't think I can part with my Juki TL 98'Q. I don't sew everyday and have a Janome 760 Platinum for decorative stitches. I've had machines with the alphabet before and never used them, but for some reason, I want them now. I actually want another Juki and think the F600 is fanstatstic. I haven't seen it in front of me, but if it is anything like my 98Q, it is a real jem. I probably will retire with these two machines. My other machine on my wish list is the Janome 350E, but that's down the road. I'm glad you are still enjoying your F600.

Cal W 10/21/09Hi, loved you review, but could you please tell me if you've tried stitching really thick layers, as in a jeans hem? Thank you.
* * *
maespinoza28 10/22/09Cal W; I haven't tried jeans yet. I did bind a king sized quilt using a decorative stitch. It went through the 6 layers of fabric and batting easily. I used a top stitch needle for it.
