Discuss Sewing Machines with PR members Sewing Machine Forum | | What cynthia pigott likes about this machine I really love this machine. It sews just great. I love the built in IDT. I am mainly a garment sewer. It sews both delicate and heavier materials wonderfully. I love the large stitch selection choices. This is the main reason I bought this machine, as well as the ability to sew to the 9mm width. The decorative stitches can be sewn in various lengths without distorting the density. There is also a mirror function. The machine is attractive looking, has very nice lighting, a very generous bed size, and is easy to use. It has a nice needle threader, has the reverse function and the lock stitch function and the needle up/down button (very important). The sensormatic buttonhole foot is amazing -- always programs the exact size every time. There are many feet that come with the machine, as well as the bonus feet like the couching/braiding foot, the 7/9 hole cording foot, the beading foot, the piping foot, and the decorative trim foot. Great for embellishment and creativity. The bobbins hold more thread on them which is a nice feature. The machine sews very quietly. It sews like a dream. I am very happy with my purchase. I guess I should say I traded in my Pfaff Quilt Expression 2048 for this model. The original price was $1,500 less my trade-in. What cynthia pigott does not like about this machine This doesn't bother me but if someone is looking for the automatic thread cutter, there is none. Also, there is no memory. That is okay for me because I do not really use it. I'm always creating something different. | *LOGIN to add a comment to this review *Only registered members can post comments to the reviews. I loved the look of this machine! Good to read your review and see that is works out to be a lovely machine to use. Pfaff equipped this machine well! These days getting that many presser feet is really a good deal. Happy sewing. :)

So nice to see another review for this well-rounded offering from Pfaff. I love having the ability to see the actual size of stitch on the screen as it is changed. I miss the Pfaff dual feed and am really interested in this model. Thanks for the review!

Does this machine take an extra stitch when taking your foot off the pedal or does it "stop on a dime"?
1/6/13 3:38 PM
To answer karen149, the machine "stops on a dime" when taking one's foot off the pedal. It does not take an extra stitch. The same is true when sewing in reverse, the machine stops sewing in reverse immediately when you release the reverse button.
