What rgrogan likes about this machine This is a 200e upgraded to the 730e. I have only had this machine for about a month and absolutely love the stitch quality. I have had a Babylock Esante and Ellegante in the past but they can't compare to the quality of this Bernina; no clunking or walking itself across the table. It sounds solid as it sews, is easy to navigate and does an incredible buttonhole; which was of huge significance for me as I sew mainly garments.
The price is still up there even though this machine is many years old, but when you compare it's features and functions to the new ones, it's hard to justify the cost difference. This machine gave me the ability to get back into an embroidery machine and not lose anything. Should have bought a Bernina sooner!! What rgrogan does not like about this machine The start up time is pretty slow and I can't turn off the opening trumpet sounds but I'm getting used to it. I just turn it on first and then go get my supplies. :)
I love everything else so far!! |

I am surprised they can upgrade it to that extent. Aren't there some differences in design that would not allow it to operate like a 730?
