What Salem13 likes about this machine Chain stitch -- no-bobbin. Seams are easy to take out, and offer some stretch. Adjustable for very fine threads or coarser ones -- change needles as needed.
Machine was treadle-operated, now electric motor sends it going. Quiet, simple mechanism, easy to oil.
Comes with many attachments which do Victorian ruffles, etc. (but I don't use them). I understand that new needles are available from another modern company. Information on the Internet about history of the machine and its quirks. What Salem13 does not like about this machine Hard to get service for this antique. |
