|What saeedamariah likes about this machine|
*Not as noisy as expected
*Tension adjusting simple
*Accompanying user guides have great visuals and examples
*A-MAZ-ING at high speeds. Accuracy is undeniable.
*Light bulb is pretty adequate (I'm a fly to a light!)
This is my first overlock machine, and I must say it was very hard at first. The CD-Rom/DVD that came with it is of low quality, but on Youtube you can find the video guides. I ignored it for a few months after not being able to thread correctly, but one day I woke up and just...Did it... and I've been happy since. I've only broken one needle so far, and it was my own fault (a pin!). The thread hasn't broken on me yet either. I now want to move on to a coverstitch, but I say for a beginner, this was a great choice. It also helps to practice on various materials to get the tension right, but one of the guides has techniques that are most common (and useful).
What saeedamariah does not like about this machine
Hmm...seeing as how I'm a beginner and I've never compared it to another, I'm not sure what I truly don't like.
*Pedal cord is kind of short for me - I'm only 4'7" so my legs don't reach out as far as most people's
*Unless you have bony fingers or long nails (as I once had and it was fine) you really do need to use the tweezers for threading, but it isn't too difficult after practice.
