In Heaven.. after searching this Forum and visiting several sewing machine stores and trying out numerous machines, I decided to purchase the above machine. My previous machine was a Singer with 6 decorative stitiches, four of them were straight.. so this upgrade to me is totally unbelievable. I bought the machine for quilting purposes and other various crafts, including clothing and outfits for my grandaughter and her doll. It has 561 decorative stitches, USB port, totally touch screen operation..if you can use an iphone, you can operate this machine. Has a knee bar if you wish to use it, Convienient assesory holder in in the front. Has interesting Multivit belt driven foot that can be used for difficult fabrics and or quilting, does free motion quilting. The automatic needle threader is amazing. There are buttons for cutting your thread, raising your pressor foot, lowering your needle. The needle always stops in a needle down position. So far I have done 2 jelly roll quilts, several carrying bags, some twister wall hangings and table runners. The September purchase special included a free embroidery machine from Brother, which I have yet to receive. This sewing machine is very quiet. You can wind the bobbin while still sewing. Has great Help menu, written instruction and video to explain overall function. Large harp 11 inches .. very spacious for large quilts. Automatic button hole, 14 selections. Has "runway" lighting..very bright work space. It is smarter than me. Looking forward to many years of sewing fun !!!

It is definitely Heavier than I expected. Did get the rolling travel case, but still heavy lifting from table to case and visa versa.

Congratulations on your new purchase and thanks for your excellent review. I recently bought the VQ 3000, which is very similar except for the additional laser light and sensor pen. It's too early for me to do a review but my initial impressions is that this V series by Brother is an absolute winner. Enjoy your machine and pop on over to the Dreamweaver yahoo group or join us here on the message board on a recently created thread on these machines. I think we're in for a treat.

Thank you for the review. I was hoping it would be lighter weight. I got the DreamWeaver VQ3000 in January of this year, and absolutely love it! It is the best machine I have ever owned or used. Enjoy your new machine!

Those machines are heavy. I lift pretty often for work but still find these v series machines a beast to lift, but the machines capabilities make it worth it

These V machines do sound wonderful. Too bad I don't have a Brother dealer. Anybody know the equivalent Baby Lock model names?

The Unity seems to be the DreamweaverXE and the Crescendo the Dreammaker (?) V3000. If Babylock has been smart....they are the exactly the same. I have the DreamweaverXE. Absolutely stunning machine.

I have never operated an embroidery machine which is why i really did not consider the DreamweaverXE...but then the September sales special with the Dream Creator VQ2400 included a separate embroidery machine from Brother. I have not as yet received it, but think it is a beginner model. I am hoping to learn the technique. May wish that I had gone for the upgrade..but feel very Blessed to have this Dream Creator at the moment. Cant imagine wanting any more from a sewing machine. Hope it lasts a LONG time !!!
