This machine is delightfully stealthy -- it's branded as a hobby/beginner machine but is basically a nicer Tipmatic or Tiptronic in a rebadged case. I was told by a Pfaff dealer that it is almost similar to the Stretch and Jeans 6091 except for the tip buttons and takes the 6091 feet and accessories.
It has IDT, which is surprising in a hobby grade Pfaff, and a very quiet and powerful motor. I bought this machine off eBay and took a chance on what looked like a solid machine that needed TLC for a good price. In the end I did have to replace the foot control but since doing that and having a tuneup done it's been an absolutely great machine.
When I took it to be tuned up it came back with a note from the technician that it "runs like a mower" and both he and another long time Pfaff dealer have told me to hang onto the machine as long as I can. It's a workhorse and will power through multiple layers of fabric without hesitation and I like how smoothly it runs.
I love this machine except for sewing knits. It is not a happy camper and has trouble skipping stiches and bunching up with the tension dialed down and the IDT engaged. I much prefer my Brother with a walking foot for knits but if I sew wovens this Pfaff is a far better machine.
I also don't like that I have to turn the handwheel so the needle is positioned all the way at the top before I can remove what I'm sewing. I've read that this is a particular German made sewing machine quirk.
