All steel both in and out, made in Japan, around 63 or 64. . Can't find out who made it, but it looks a lot like a Brother. It is white with a dark red top and lots of chrome. A .75 amp motor which can be raised and lowered as the belt stretches.
Has 6 stitches, including stretch, blind hemmer, straight, zigzag plus a 3 step buttonhole. It has a dual needle capacity which works well on all the stitches. The feed d0g drops down for darning or straight stitching. There is a ruler on the front of the case for easy measurement.
Bobbin winder, tension, and presser foot pressure button are all in the usual place. Light is on the left in the end piece. Uses standard bobbins. Light and motor have separate plugs.
Tried it with silk, flannel and heavy denim. All the stitches were perfect and I did not have to adjust the tension. Tried all the other stitches on the flannel and they too were perfect. Machine is fairly quiet. Threading was pretty intuitive as I did not have a manual.
No problems once it was was cleaned, oiled and greased. It is a pretty machine and of course is a muscle builder. It does what it is supposed to do without a lot of fuss and does it well.
