Tell us about your first impression when you used this machine.I was impressed by all the extras that came for the price. I have never used an auto threader before, but forced myself to learn in an effort to teach my children. It takes a little practice, but I'm glad I learned. I now wish this feature was on my older machines.

Was the machine manual sufficient?Yes. The manual gave detailed discriptions and the illistrations were easy to follow.

Did you buy any accessories? Do you use them? No. You don't need anything else.

Is this your primary machine? No. I bought as a way to teach my children to sew. My older machines are a little fussy, and frustrated my girls.

Was this a gift/pre-owned/garage sale etc?Bought new from

Would you recommend this machine to others?Yes. It is the perfect machine for beginners. All 4 of my children have used this machine with no problems.

Have you had any trouble with this machine? Please elaborate.I really love this machine! My son used it so much that I gave it to him. I am in the process of buying another one for my oldest daughter who recently married. I would like to mention that some reviewers have had problems with hemming denim, and leather. But, I have had no problems with denim, and my son recently repaired leather gloves using a leather needle with no problem at all! The only thing that I had a problem with was the machine being so light that it would move around while I was sewing. I have sinced read that someone suggested using a gripper mat under the machine to keep it from sliding.

Do you do regular maintenance on this machine? How?

This is a popular machine and thank you for reviewing it. You should feel very proud that you have taught your children to use a sewing machine. So many young adults these days don't even know how to sew on a button! Kudos to you and I hope your kids continue to learn and enjoy this machine! :-)

My SIL loves hers. This model has been one of their most popular low end models, I have the SQ9050 which has almost all the same stitches and features, and I have been just thrilled with mine
