Chat with Stephen Fraser of Spoonflower, Wednesday, August 11th, 9 PM ESTBy DianeSev on 8/5/10 4:22 PM

Chat with Stephen Fraser of Spoonflower, Wednesday, August 11th, 9 PM Eastern Time (6 Pacific, 7 Mountain, 8 Central)!

Join us on Wednesday, August 11th at 9 PM EST for a chat with Stephen Fraser of Spoonflower on "Designing Your Own Fabric".

Stephen Fraser is co-founder of Spoonflower, an Internet-based custom fabric printing service and design community that makes it possible for individuals to design, print and sell their own fabric designs.

Prior to launching Spoonflower with a partner in summer of 2008, he worked as a marketing consultant for Internet start-ups. He also served as marketing director for Lulu.com, a print-on demand book publishing company, from its 2002 launch through 2006.

How did he get the idea for Spoonflower? Stephen was persuaded by his wife (and PR member) Kim, that being able to print her own fabric for curtains was a really cool idea.

She wasn’t alone in thinking that. The Spoonflower community now numbers around 70,000 individuals who use their own fabric to make curtains, quilts, clothes, bags, furniture, dolls, pillows, framed artwork, costumes, banners and much, much more. The Spoonflower marketplace offers the largest collection of independent fabric designers in the world.

Spoonflower has appeared in the New York Times, Associated Press, Vogue, Martha Stewart Weddings, Make, CRAFT, ApartmentTherapy, Photojojo, and many other publications and blogs.

The chat is open to all Friends of PR members. Chat instructions will be posted on the PR home page on Wednesday morning.

Can't attend the chat? E-mail us the questions you want asked, and we'll make sure that Stephen gets them.

Hi Deepika, there's been lots of really interesting chats lately! I know there aren't as many of us in Europe, but would it be possible to schedule at least one chat we could participate in? All the chat times are either 2am or 3am for us (UK is 5 hours ahead, Mid-Europe 6 hours). Maybe on a Sunday afternoon, anywhere up to 6:00PM EST? Thanks!
