|Join us on Wednesday, November 3rd at 9 PM EST for a chat with Cheryl Kuczek of Paradiso Designs on "Sewing with Vinyl and Pleather". |
Cheryl Kuczek is the founder of Paradiso Designs by Cheryl Kuczek, a company that sells "super simple quirky patterns...that allow you to make designer-worthy handbags". She's also the author of the blog at www.paradisodesigns.blogspot.com.
We also welcome Paradiso Designs by Cheryl Kuczek to PatternReview as a new drop shipper. You can order her designs here.
Cheryl started doing custom design more than 25 years ago but has been drawing and designing since she was a small child. She has a degree in Business Marketing with minors in Economics and Art from the University of Anchorage-Alaska. She started Paradiso Designs by Cheryl Kuczek more than 10 years ago as a custom design business.
In the Fall 2007, Cheryl introduced her own independent pattern line with four handbag patterns: the Anna Handbag, the Okashi Courier Bag, the Xine Basket Bag, and the Tiny Bag. In Spring 2008, Cheryl added two more patterns to her line: the Carry-all Bag, and the Everyday Bag. At Sew Expo 2009, she debuted the Be Green Market Bag, and Perfect Pillows. Fall 2009 and Spring 2010 brought 3 more patterns from Paradiso Designs and also found Cheryl working on a sewing project book that uses many types of fabrics in different and unusual ways.
Three years ago, Cheryl started teaching adults and children not only to sew, but also to incorporate their own style wants and needs into their creations. She loves helping her students learn to sew beyond what they think they can do. She guides them by helping them create not only her handbag patterns, but also clothes that really do fit. She encourages children to draw their own patterns to use in making their own projects. She inspires adults to complete their projects and focuses on helping them to understand how the design will look and how the creation process evolves.
Cheryl continues to teach and design with passion. She finds joy in giving others the inspiration to sew and create.
The chat is open to all Friends of PR members. Chat instructions will be posted on the PR home page on Wednesday morning.
