We're Chatting with Pattern Designers Leslie and Kimberly Gladman of Favorite Things, on "Designing Fashionable Patterns That Fit", on Wednesday, June 29th, at 1 PM Eastern Standard Time (10 AM Pacific, 11 AM Mountain, Noon Central). GMT: 17:00:00. Sydney, Australia: Thursday, June 30, 2011 at 3 AM!*

Join us on Wednesday, June 29th at 1 PM EST for a chat with Leslie and Kimberly Gladman of Favorite Things on "Designing Fashionable Patterns That Fit".

Leslie and Kimberly Gladman are the faces behind Favorite Things. Defined by its motto, "Patterns That Fit", this independent pattern company has a collection of designs drawn from the Gladmans' memories, past and present, and offers patterns for bags, clothing, gift sets, hats, slippers, home decor and more.

In high demand across Canada, the United States and the rest of the world, the pattern line reflects the Gladmans' drive to create innovative projects for those who love to sew. The line includes such designs as Leslie's popular slippers, handbags, clothing, home decorating and gift ideas. Providing clear instructions and good fit is a hallmark of the company and has endeared it to new and experienced sewers alike.

The owner and chief designer of Favorite Things, Leslie Gladman was trained in Fashion Design and Clothing Technology in Vancouver, British Columbia.

In 1993, Leslie began Favorite Things in a small office on the upper floor of her rural farmhouse in Delta, B.C. Favorite Things eventually outgrew the available space. It wasn’t until early 2002, however, that the much-needed office and studio space became a reality with a new addition to her home.

Leslie loves the concept of family business and involves the members of her family as much as possible.

Inspired by fond memories of her mother, who indulged her desire for fabric and sewing, Kimberly Gladman has created a collection of flattering, feminine designs to reveal her joy of creativity, eye for detail and true understanding of what makes a woman feel pretty.

Kimberly’s friendship with Leslie grew as she expressed her natural talent in sewing for Favorite Things. She then became a member of the family when Leslie’s son Jordan proposed and the two of them were married December, 2006. Things took yet another pleasant turn when, while studying fashion in Vancouver, B.C., Kimberly was offered a position to design for the company.

Together, Leslie and Kimberly want to become an "unstoppable" design team, creating inspiring collections that they hope will be continually sought-after in the sewing industry.

Follow their projects on their blog.
