|The wait is over! We are pleased to announce our Fall Workshops!
Mark your calendars for the weekend of October 14, 15 and 16 for your choice of hands-on sewing workshops taught by two of our most popular teachers.
|Bodice Moulage - Kenneth D. King|
Kenneth D King will be here leading his popular Bodice Moulage workshop! After a series of measurements are taken, and calculations are done, you will draft a pattern that will fit like a second skin. Once you have this pattern (also called a sloper) you'll be able to alter commercial patterns to fit your body or add design details to this sloper to make your own original design. We offered this workshop last fall to rave reviews. You don’t want to miss spending 3 days with Kenneth! You will learn so much and laugh till you cry. Trust me, I was there. Plus it is the perfect time to come to New England- our trees will be spectacular!
See what we did last year!
|Couture Workshop - Susan Khalje|
The amazing Susan Khalje will also be with us teaching her Couture Techniques in which she will show you how to master all those techniques which elevate your garments to the couture status. Here are a few of the topics covered:
- a detailed couture lining application which incorporates an underlining and a number of hand stitches
- ultra-thin bias spaghetti straps
- 2 hand-picked zipper applications (one will be centered and embellished; the other will be lapped)
- bound buttonholes and how to back them
- and working with Alencon lace.
Note: Registration fee includes lunch and refreshments all three days, drafting paper for (Moulage workshop) and a small kit (for Couture workshop).
Treat yourself to the perfect getaway- a weekend full of sewing and friends! We’ll see you there!
