I am making this dress pattern in a large pattern pumpkin lace over pumpkin georgette. I added pumpkin georgette covered piping at waist and neckline - its awesome.. I love this pattern!

I might have liked the coat, if it fastened. You don't want to go running errands in Wisconsin in late autumn while trying to hold your car coat shut.

I'm getting ready to make the dress, but with so many modifications, it's going to look like a different pattern when I'm done. Changing it from a gathered skirt to a circle skirt. Using the sweetheart neckline as the end of the underfabric, with the lace being an overdress. Basically, I'm using the pattern as a jumping point, and for the bodice and sleeves. But - it's pretty!

I think New Look often has good values with sportswear separates; I would probably make all the pieces in 6164 and a good opportunity to practice with knits. I really like the cape/jacket in 6152 - it is 'more perfect' than the Vogue cape pattern I picked up last week, and because it's simpler, more likely that I'll do it.

I especially like the jacket, #6153. Exactly what I've been looking for. I have the perfect fabric but didn't have the right pattern; this one is it.

I thought that 6143 was so pretty when I had a dress like than back in 1967. Like the looks of all of these, but I would never wear any of them except the coat, and with that I'd need buttons or a zipper or something to keep it closed (because where I live coats are essential, not decorative).

6143 and 6154 are so retro. Peplum is trendy but I remember making 6141 for my daughter years ago. I'm dating myself again. What goes around comes back.

These seem like my mom recycled all her patterns from the 80s...what gives? The first dress could be cute, but the other stuff I don't care for.

I bought 6164 yesterday for the dress/top pattern.

It's official... I am truly a "middle aged" adult now... I made that coat when I was in college...and now it's back in style!! Anywho... I do love the two dresses though!

I agree with Laurie Lou that NL is geared toward the younger crowd but these are versatile enough for all, with the exception of 6143...but I guess with a few petticoats you could get your June Cleaver on.

6141 the dress is very cute. I'm not liking the shapeless coat 6153 so much. I always think of New look for the younger crowd maybe they are trying to capture the older set with this one.
