I often feel that so-called state of flow we hear so much about.

Oh, what a beautiful montage of sorts! For me, it's a feeling of being very grounded, focused, peaceful, rested, happy, creative, and competent.

For me it always depends on what I'm sewing. If it's some obligatory mending or something I've said "yes" to doing, but I'm dreading doing it, I feel frustrated and overwhelmed and anxious to get it done and out of my hair. If it's something I want to do, something new and creative, something for myself, my daughters, my husband, or to give as a gift, I feel excited about giving it or wearing it, but also peaceful and relaxed because it's what I love to do. I feel at my most creative. I feel as though I'm doing something that no one else has the talent, time or inclination to do. I feel productive and competent, and at the same time challenged to learn and do something new.

When I sew I feel energized and creative. It's almost on a spiritual level.

Calm, deeply immersed in the project, hopeful, happy, creative and content.

Usually Happy and content, but when something isn't working out, I get downright frustrated and angry! If I didn't have my mom to help me, I would probably never sew again!

As my Mother used to say, You're always happy when you sew. I guess that's why she encouraged my passion when I was young. She's deceased now, but I think of her whenever I sew and I am happy.

I feel like I am starting out on a new journey each time I start a new project, knowing it will take me to parts unknown and I will learn something new and enticing.
