The Fitted Blouse Contest challenged participants to create and model a collared blouse to showcase technical fitting skills. This contest was uniquely divided into three categories, so entrants could compete against other members of similar sewing abilities.
Contest criteria for all three skill levels focused on quality of construction, creative design elements, and garment gallery review. Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced contest categories each had a winner chosen by member vote.
Let’s meet them now!
Beginner Prize Winner: MrsCharisma for Butterick: 5678 (Misses'/Misses' Petite Shirt and Sash)
MrsCharisma says, "I am really, really proud of my work on this top! I swear I unpicked and restitched the topstitching on the cuffs like 6 times! This forced me to learn to use my walking foot - yay!"
Intermediate Prize Winner: acmena for Vogue Patterns: 7587 (Vogue Classic Blouse)
acmena says, "A basic princess seamed shirt, perfect size for me as it comes."
Advanced Prize Winner: clothingengineer for StyleArc: Brenda blouse (Brenda blouse)
clothingengineer says, "I will definitely sew this again. I think I perfected the fit and all I would need to do is adjust the sleeve length length for whatever season it is."
Congratulations to everyone who participated! Wonderful work!
