Progress Report for ChrisS
Contest: Sewing For Children     Managed By: velosewer

Photo Pattern Used Points Items Made Yardage Used Description Last Updated
1 No Pattern Used:knit dress (Baby clothes) 3 3.000 1.000 This is a knit dress made from a recycled adult sweater. I followed this baby knit dress tutorial. It came out really well following the instructions exactly. I also made some booties from the left over sweater material and lined them with a cotton knit. The booties were a combination of a couple of patterns and trying to mimic the construction of the expensive Roobeez booties you can buy. I also made some matching tights from a free pattern from Made by Rae. 12/31/12 11:54 PM
2 No Pattern Used:Yoga skirt (Baby clothes) 1 1.000 1.000 Baby yoga skirt based on the tutorial from Sew Mama Sew for the child or adult skirt. I just scaled it down for my baby niece. Made to go over the matching onesis and tights I also made as part of a mini-wardrobe I made for my niece. 12/31/12 11:43 PM
3 McCall's:Infant Layette (Baby clothes) 4 4.000 3.000 I made several pieces from this Infant's Layette. The pieces were part of a mini-wardrobe I made for my 5-month old niece. This is a onesie that can be paired with the pear jumper, or a blue skirt (self drafted baby version of a yoga skirt). Includes matching tights and booties to complete the outfit. 12/31/12 11:23 PM
4 McCall's:Infants' Jacket, Jumper, Pant (Baby clothes) 1 1.000 1.500 Cute simple to make A-line jumper. I made this one out of corduroy, lined it with flannel, and jazzed it up some with a matching appliqué, rid-rack trim, and fun buttons. This is part of a set of baby clothes I made for my 5-month old niece. My sister really isn't fond of pink and has been lamenting that almost all baby girl clothes are too pink, sparkly, and girly. So I made her a mini wardrobe of matching jumpers, onesies, shirts, pants, skirt, tights, and booties in browns, greens, and blues. 12/31/12 10:47 PM
5 McCall's:Infants jumpsuit (Baby clothes) 1 1.000 2.000 A fleece snowsuit for by baby niece. Mom wanted something that would be warm enough for Montana winter walks but not so bulky that the baby wouldn't fit into a baby carrier. She asked that it have feet, attached mittens, and a hood. She also preferred that it be a neutral color. I had some nice tan microfleece in my stash and enough of the rust colored grid fleece left over from some other projects to put this together for her. 12/31/12 10:10 PM
  Total 10 10 8.5
