I started a new tradition on my blog, where I share my analysis of garment that inspire me and I cannot afford and discuss it'f features and construction. I did one post on the Green Jil Sander's dress, designed by Raf Simons. I was so inspired by my own post that decided to challenged my self and make an inspired dress within a week. I made this first version in Jade cotton, and there is one more in the works in green rayon. I made the pattern my self, it wasn't that difficult :)- kimono sleeves, and added some personal design features- like little detachable bows in place of the rhinestone brooches, just to play with the colors and my favorite 50's slanted darts for the the skirt. I also changed the back V opening to something a bit more elegant than in the original. Hope you'll like it! |
