||Self Drafted Pattern:My Jacket Pattern (Coat/Jacket)
||The jacket is made of a piece of wool I purchase in Rome Italy many years ago. It has been a million different designs in my head. When I saw the contest on PR I decided it was going to be a jacket with a unique lining.
Jacket lining: The lining in this jacket is made with pieced and appliqued silk taffeta. The sleeve “cuff” is the lining, which I embroidered. The jacket can be worn with the sleeves rolled down or back as shown in the photo. Pictures of the lining are in my PR gallery.
Inside the jacket is a Chinese Wedding pocket, which is great for carrying a mobile phone.
Jacket construction: I used fusible interfacing on the front, side panel, front facing and upper and lower collars. I used hair canvas in the front section and pad-stitched the lapel and using twill tape on the roll-line. The pockets are a simple double welt pocket.
