ANSWERS: Reviews and Requests 

  1. I have noticed that on occasion, I can not access someone's garment picture that they have posted. I get a note back indicating that viewing is "restricted". Some of the pictures I can access but some I cannot. Why does this happen?
    Answer: This generally happens when the Album owner has not made the photo album (where they have put their photos) Public. Some online photo album sites also require the viewers to have an account with the site. If that is the case you may not be able to view the photo. If this happens, please do not hesitate to mention this in the comment section of the review. Doing this will bring it to the attention of the reviewer and the problem can be fixed.


  2. I am looking for a pattern but I cannot find a review for it? How can PatternReview.com help me?
    Answer: Are you sure you searched the site thoroughly. We have an Advanced Search feature for Pattern and Book Reviews. If that does not result in any reviews, type your search in the search box in the left navigation bar and choose the area where you are searching. If you don't choose anything from the drop down menu, it'll search in all the pattern reviews. If after searching also there are no results, you can Request a Pattern Review.


  3. How do I attach my finished garment photos to my review?
    Answer: There is a separate page which answers this question. This help can be accessed by clicking on the help link when you write a review.

  4. When trying to post Kwik Sew pattern photos, all I get is the Kwik Sew site and not the pattern photo, what am I am doing wrong? A similar thing happens when I try to post a Simplicity pattern photo.
    Answer: Some web sites like www.kwiksew.com have Frames. What that does is, clicking on one frame will open a new page in the next Frame, but the URL which shows in your browser is still that of the first, so when you click on the pattern number on the left frame on Kwik Sew's web site, it opens the page in the right hand frame. To get the exact URL of the pattern page, instead of clicking on the Pattern Number from the left page, do a right-click and then choose Open in a new window. By doing that it will open the Pattern Page in a new window and you can copy and paste that URL in the pattern photo in your reviews.

    For Simplicity Patterns: When you have searched the pattern you want to post a photo of, right click on the pattern number that you are reviewing, and select 'properties' from the popup menu. The text listed for Address (URL): will look something like http://www.simplicity.com/designFrame.cfm?designId=7398&design=5677, with different pattern numbers of course. Copy this text and use it in your pattern photo link. Your pattern picture will then open the entire design viewer allowing access to the front/back views and envelope back.


  5. I posted a review but now I want to update it.
    Answer: To Edit your review, you need to go to the page where your review is shown. Click on the Edit Review link. You will need to authenticate yourself by entering your e-mail address and the password. This is the same as the information in your profile. If you have forgotten your password, click on the 'forgot my password' link from the login page and it will send your password to your e-mail. Once you are successfully authenticated, you will be able to edit anything in your review. After you have edited your review, click on the Edit button and your changes will be saved.


  6. I am trying to add a review but the screen keeps kicking me back to the log in page. What am I doing wrong?
    Answer: If this is happening, the most probable cause is that you are not logged in properly. Follow these steps: Click here to Logout. It will take you to the home page. Click on the back button of your browser to come back to this screen. Then Click here to add a review. if that does not solve the problem, please send me an e-mail.


  7. Why are there stars next to some reviewers name?
    Answer: When you see a yellow star next to a person's name, it denotes the PatternReview.com rating the member has received. To read more about how rating works, please Click Here


  8. What do R and C mean?
    Answer: When a review has been requested by some other member, an R appears next to it so that the requestor can identify it. C stands for a review on which people have commented.


  9. What should I do if I can't find the pattern company in the pull down menu when I am writing a review?
    Answer: Currently there are 86 unique Pattern Companies in the company pull down list. To see a list of all the companies, please Click here. If you cannot find the company you are reviewing a pattern of, please Send me an e-mail and I will add it to the list.


  10. Are there any fees associated with the reading and posting of reviews on PatternReview.com?
    Answer: No, there is no fee for posting a review, but you have to be a registered member in order to write a review. Some enhanced features of the site are available only to Friends of PR members. To find out more about this low-cost subscription, please click on the link.


  11. How can I add a clickable link in my Review or Comment?
    Answer: To make your reviews stand out and more interactive, you can include links to various other reviews or web sites. You can also bold a few phrases or letters to emphasize.
    • To add a link in your review: Type <a href="http://www.gohere.com" target="_blank"> and </a> around the text you want to link. For example: To go to my website, please <a href="http://sewing.patternreview.com" target="_blank">Click here</a> will look like -- To go my website, please Click here
    • To make text Bold: Type <B> and </B> around the text you want to make bold. For example: This text is <B>Bold</B> will look like This text is Bold
    • To Underline something: Type <U> and </U> around the text you want to underline. For example: This text is <U>Underlined</U> will look like -- This text is Underlined


  12. I saved my review as a draft and now I want to finish it. But I can't find it anywhere.
    Answer: You can find all your draft reviews linked on Your Page. Look on top right corner when you go to Your Page. Your Page is linked from the left navigation bar under Your Stuff.


  13. Why do I see an edit link next to my comments on reviews?
    Answer: The edit link allows you to edit the comment you wrote. Only you can see the link when you are logged in. Nobody else can change comments written by you.


  14. What are external sewing machine reviews and why am I not able to read them?
    Answer: External sewing machine reviews are reviews gathered by PatternReview.com from various other sources to provide it's members with even more information to help them make informed decisions. Since this is a manual and time consuming process, this feature is only available to Friends of PR members. If you are a free member or are not logged in as one, you will see an error message displaying that you do not have access to that review.


  15. What are Pattern Review Requests?
    Answer: If you cannot find a review for a pattern you are looking for, you can add a Request for Review. Once your request is in the list, people will notice it and will review the pattern if they have tried it before.


  16. Is it possible to search for a specific pattern company on the review request list?
    Answer: On this list Click on the Pattern Company header and it will sort the list accordingly. You can sort by other headers as well.

  17. Why don't I see my review on the Review Gallery?
    Answer: Review Gallery is a new feature ( launched Nov. 06). The gallery pulls up all the reviews which are either using Friends of PR photos or reviews which have thumbnails uploaded and shows them in a photo gallery format. The Gallery also has filtering tools on top which allows you to view reviews by categories and/or Pattern Company.

    If you wrote your review after Nov. 06 and your review does not show up in the Review Gallery, please check the following:
        a) Did you upload a thumbnail photo from your computer when you wrote the review? If you did and it still doesn't show up on the Gallery, please contact support
        b) If you didn't upload a thumbnail, please go to your review, edit it and upload a thumbnail and it will show up in the Gallery.

    Please note, that if your review has a photo from your FoPR Photo Album, you do not need to add a thumbnail. It will automatically use the thumbnail from your album.

    For your older reviews, please follow step b).


  18. What is a Tag?
    Answer: Tagging is a cool new way of categorizing content. Tags are nothing but keywords you enter to categorize a review/tip or whereever you see a new Add Tag box on PatternReview.com. When you click on the Tags, you'll be able to see all reviews associated with that tag. To add more than one tag to a review, simply add a comma between the keywords.

    Who can add tags?
    All logged in members can add tags to reviews.

  19. What are PR Widgets?
    Answer: Widget is a plug in code which you can configure on PatternReview to show your latest review thumbnails on your blog or your web site. It's a perfect way to show off your hard work. Once you've plugged in the widget code into your blog, you never need to change it. Whenever you write a new pattern review on PR, or edit an old review, it will automatically show up on your widget too. Cool, right? Click here to create or edit your widget. Widget is also available from the left navigation bar if you are logged in, as well as in the Frequently Used Links in the Your Account page.

  20. How can I delete one or more of my reviews?
    Answer: If you wish to delete the reviews you've posted, request deletion via an e-mail to support@patternreview.com. Please tell us why you'd like us to remove your reviews.
 

ANSWERS: Searching and Sorting

  1. How do I sort a review list?
    Answer: The headers on every review list are hyperlinked. If you click on any of the headers, it will sort the list accordingly. For example to sort a review list according to the pattern number, just click on pattern Number header and it will sort it in ascending order. To sort a store review list by region, click on Store Location header and it will sort the list first on State, then on City.


  2. How do I search for a specific pattern review?
    Answer: If you know the pattern number and the company of the pattern you are looking for, click on 'Advanced Search' from the navigation bar to do a specific search.


  3. How do I only search for reviews with photos?
    Answer: Just click the checkbox which says 'Only show reviews with photo' on the search page.


  4. Can I search for anything across the site?
    Answer: Yes you can! PatternReview.com has a very powerful search feature which is very easy to use. Just type in the search phrase you are looking for in the search box available from the top left corner of every page on the site. When searching, choose which section you want to search in. If you don't choose, the tool will search in pattern reviews.


  5. Can I search for reviews by a specific member?
    Answer: Yes you can. Click on Advanced Search from the left navigation bar and in the Search Pattern Reviews box, where it says Reviewer's Name, type the member's name and click on search. If there are any pattern reviews written by that member, it will show you the list.


  6. How can I find a Member?
    Answer: To find a member, click on find a member link from the navigation bar. To find a member by name, enter the name only. If you want to find members by region, please choose the state and country. More tips on searching are on the find a member page.

    Answer: Our chat room is a java applet which requires that you have Java installed on your computer. Most computers come pre-installed with this, but if you do not see the box with the connect button in it when you go to the Chat Room, it means you either do not have java. or you do not have it enabled. ANSWERS: Classifieds

  1. I have an item to sell, how do I post it on the Classifieds?
    Answer: Classifieds can be entered here. You need to be a Friends of PR member to post a classified.
  2. How can I edit or delete my classified?
    Answer: Go to your classified entry. There is a link under the classified title which says Edit/Delete this listing. Click on that, it will ask you for your email address and password to authenticate you. Then enter the reason and either delete or edit your classified from there. All classifieds are set to expire after 30 days.
 

ANSWERS: Contests

  1. What are the contests and how do they work?
    Answer: Contests on PatternReview.com were started with the purpose of motivating and inspiring each other to sew and use patterns and Fabrics from the stash. Over the past few months it has become one of the most popular features of the site. Each contest lasts for 3 months and depending on the rules of the contests, participants sign up for each contest, and pay a small fee (generally .00) which goes to the contest winner. Don't miss out on the fun. Join a contest today!


  2. How do I sign up for a contest?
    Answer: Click on Enter a Contest from the left navigation bar from anywhere on the site. Choose which contest you would like to sign-up for. Enter your e-mail address and password for authentication and you are all set! Please read the contest rules before you sign-up. If the contest requires you to pay a small fee, please do so after you sign-up. More information can be found in the contest rules for each contest.


  3. Where can I find the contest rules?
    Answer: When you Enter a Contest Click on the contest name from the contest rules pull down menu and it will display the contest rules in a separate window. When you are done, simply close the window.


  4. How can I see the reports of all the contests which have ended?
    Answer: This feature is not available yet. Currently you can only see a report of the contest currently running. Very soon you will be able to see the 'Contest Reports' of all the previous contests also.


  5. Can I join the contest after it has started?
    Answer: Yes, you can join the contest at any time if its actively running.


  6. I want to sponsor the prize for one of the contests, how do I do that?

  7. How do I attach a photo to my contest entry?
    Answer: To add an entry in the contest, you need to write a review first. To do that click on Add Review link from the home page under the latest reviews. While writing a review, make sure that you have entered your photo in the Project Photo field. Publish your review to the site. Now you will need to attach this review to your contest entry. Go to contest report, click on the contest you want to add your entry in. Click on Enter Items link. Choose the Pattern Company name from the drop down menu. Wait for a few seconds. The system will load up all the reviews you have added for that company. Choose the review you just added. Add other details and you are done! The photo of your review shows up on the Contest Gallery

  1. How do I become a member and what are the benefits of becoming one?
    Answer: Almost all the features on PatternReview.com require you to have a member account. This is for your own security and preventing anonymous postings. Becoming a member is a two step process.
    I) Click here to sign-up. Please make sure the e-mail address you enter is correct.
    II) You will receive a welcome e-mail at the e-mail address you chose in the form. The e-mail contains an activation link which verifies your e-mail address. Please click on that link to complete the process. If the link is not clickable, please copy and paste it in your browser. Please Note that if you do not verify your e-mail address you will be considered an inactive member and will not be allowed to post. If you chose to do so, you will also receive e-mail newsletters informing you of new features added to PatternReview.com, important announcements and Chat schedules. Each newsletter also contains a helpful article contributed by a PatternReview member. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter any time.


  2. I forgot my password, how do I login?
    Answer: If you created a member account but forgot your password, click on the forgot password link at the bottom of the login form and password reset instructions will be sent to your e-mail address which you used to sign up. Follow the link in that e-mail to change your password. The password reset link will expire in 24 hours.


  3. Can I change my e-mail address and personal information?
    Answer: Yes, you can change your personal and other information any time you want. Please keep your profile up-to-date. You can update your email address and other profile information at Edit Profile.


  4. I signed up for the newsletter but I am not receiving any of them.
    Answer: If you did not click on the newsletter box in the form when you signed up, you should receive the newsletter. If you are using AOL, Yahoo or Hotmail addresses, please check to make sure that PR e-mails are not going to your 'bulk e-mail' or 'junk e-mail' folder. If that does not work, please Send me an e-mail with your e-mail address.


  5. How do I unsubscribe from the newsletter?
    Answer: Every newsletter has the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the e-mail. Please click on that to unsubscribe. After you do that, go to Edit Profile and check the box at the bottom which says click here if you do not want to subscribe to the newsletter.


  6. What is a Pattern Catalog?
    Answer: An online Pattern Catalog is an organized way of cataloging your patterns on PatternReview.com. Patterns in your catalog will be linked to the review on the site for easy reference. Friends of PR get unlimited storage space for their pattern catalogs.


  7. How can I add items to my wish-list?
    Answer: You can add items to your wish list from the Add to Wish List button on the review pages. Currently there is no way to add items which have not been reviewed to your wish list but this feature will be available soon.


  8. What is Deal Corner?
    Answer: Deal Corner is a Friends of PR only page which contains deals and steals from various merchants to save you money! It also has special coupons for members to get 5% off on their total purchase. New Deals are added to the page every week.


  9. What is Friends of PR?
    Answer: Friends of PR is a low-cost subscription to PatternReview.com which entitles the members to archives, special discounts and advanced features of the site. To find out more about the features of this subscription, please Click here.


  10. I paid for my Friends of PR account, but it still shows me as pending, why?
    Answer: If you paid for your subscription via PayPal using the eCheck option, please note that it takes 3-4 business days for the check to clear. You status will change from pending to active as soon as we get confirmation from PayPal of the cleared check. If paying by check instead of PayPal, your status will be pending until your check is received. For current account status, please visit the Your Account page. For any other questions regarding your subscription, please contact us.


  11. How can I cancel my Friends of PR Account?
    Answer: Friends of PR Membership is recurring based on your plan (monthly - no longer offered, 6monthly or yearly). 10 days before a payment is due, you will get an e-mail to the e-mail address on your account informing you of the upcoming charge. That e-mail also has cancellation instructions. To cancel your Friends of PR subscription for the next period, you can also send an e-mail to support@patternreview.com with "Cancel FoPR" in the subject line.


  12. What is Friends of PR Photo Album?
    Answer: If you are a Friends of PR member, you get 1MB of space free on our servers to store your photo album. The album also provides a quick & easy way to link photos to your reviews.


  13. I have my photo on an online photo album site like yahoo or ofoto.com but why doesn't my photo work in my profile?
    Answer: Most free online photo album sites like yahoo, ofoto.com or geocities do not allow your photo to be accessible from outside. This is the reason, even if you enter the correct URL it doesn't work in your profile. If you have a personal web page or a photo in your Friends of PR Photo Album that will work. All you have to do is Edit your profile and enter the complete URL in the Photo Field and save your profile. Remember the URL should always start with http://.


  14. I am signed up but I still can't login.
    Answer: PatternReview.com and Friendsofpr.com require cookies to be enabled on your browser in order to login. To learn more about cookies and to learn how to enable them, Click Here.
    In Netscape, Go to Edit Menu >> Preferences, double click on Security and Privacy, click on cookies >> Enable All Cookies.
    In Internet Explorer, Go to Tools menu >> Internet Options >> Click on Privacy Tab >> Click on Advanced button >> Choose accept first party cookies and click on OK.
    In Mozilla Firefox, Go to the Tools menu >> Options >> Click on Privacy Tab >> Check the box which says "Accept cookies from sites".
    Try logging in now. You should see Welcome back on the home page on top right corner.


  15. How do I add my photo to my profile?
    Answer: To add your photo to your profile click on Edit Profile from the left navigation bar. Enter your e-mail address and password for verification and it will bring up the screen with your profile information. Once there simply upload a photo from your computer. The photo will be automatically resized to thumbnail size. To remove an existing photo in your profile, check on the Remove photo checkbox.


  16. How can I add/change a signature to all my posts on the Message Board?
    Answer: Go to Edit Profile to edit your signature or your photo on the Message Boards.


  17. How do I logout?
    Answer: You will see a logout link on top of any page which says "Welcome back [member]". Clicking on the logout link will display a small confirmation box after which you'll be logged out. Please note that most areas of the site require you to be logged in and you'll not be able to access the site if you aren't.

  18. I am a Friends of PR member but I am not receiving my Daily Digest.
    Answer: Daily digests are an opt-in feature of Friends of PR Membership. Make sure that you have the Yes radio button checked for daily digest on the Notifications page. If you have already opted in and are not receiving the digest, please make sure that you are subscribed to the newsletter. We don't send digests to unsubscribed members. You can check the newsletter subscription settings on the Notifications page as well. If you've verified that you are opted in as well as subscribed to the newsletter, please e-mail us at support@patternreview.com

  19. I changed my account information in PayPal and my Friends of PR subscription was canceled. Why did this happen, and how can I undo this?
    Answer: Paypal has a policy of canceling all upcoming subscriptions if you make any significant changes to your Paypal account. They claim its to protect your paypal account. If this happens to you and you get an email that your Friends of PR subscription has been canceled, please take the following steps. Check Your Account page to see when your Friends of PR subscription is expiring. If it's well into the next year, you don't have to do anything. You'll get an email from PatternReview asking you if you wish to re-subscribe and you can follow the steps in the email to sign up again. If your Friends of PR subscription is expiring in just a few days, please send me an email at support@patternreview.com and I will recreate the subscription for you.

  20. When I edit my profile, it gives me this error "This username is already taken." OR "Please don't use special characters in your username". Is this change new?
    Answer: If you see this message, then it means that your username is not entirely unique or has special characters which are no longer allowed. I have just finished working on a new super cool page My Public Page which requires all PR members to have a unique username. So the URL to see your own public page is

    http://sewing.patternreview.com/members/[yourusername]

    If your username is the same as some other member's then clearly this page will not work in which case your public page will have this url: http://sewing.patternreview.com/members/[yourusername]_[yourprofileid]. Ugly right? So to avoid this url, I recommend that you change your username to something unique.

    By May 2008 all the duplicate usernames will be changed automatically in this 3 stage process.

    Stage 1: All the people who havent even activated their accounts and yet have duplicate names will be switched to something unique. That'll free up some usernames.

    Stage 2: Anybody who has a duplicate username AND has not posted anything on the site in the last 6 months will be switched.

    Stage 3: All others who have duplicate names. By doing this in stages, I am hoping quite a few of you will get to keep your usernames. So, if you want to wait until May to see if your desired username frees up, feel free to do so. However, you won't be able to edit your profile if you decide to wait. I understand this change is frustrating for you but trust me, this is the only way I could make it work. I look forward to your support in this change.   21. What are cookies and why do I need them?
    Answer: Cookies are small bits of data that are sent to your computer when you visit a website. When asked for, the website can call this data back. Only the website which put the data there can recall it. Cookies allow PR to recognize you and personalize your user experience whenver you visit PatternReview.com. If cookies are disabled on your browser when you are ordering something from PR, you will not be able to complete your purchase or store items in your shopping bag. You will also not be able login and utilize certain features of the website which are members only.

    Is it safe to enable cookies? Yes, Cookies are only small pieces of data. They are unable to perform any operation by themselves. Additionally only PR can access data which PR stored in your cookies.

    How do I enable Cookies?

      Go to the Tools Menu >> Internet Options >> Privacy. Lower the setting to Medium.

  1. How can I interact with other users?
    Answer: Each review has a 'Comments' section where readers can comment on the review or ask the reviewer specific questions about the review or the item they are reviewing. If you read some of the reviews, you will see how active this feature is on the site. PatternReview.com also has a Message Board and you can discuss various topics there.


  2. I am signed-up for PatternReview.com but the Message Board won't allow me to post.
    Answer: Once you login to PatternReview.com you will be allowed to post on the message board. In order to login please go to Login.


  3. Is it worth reviewing an Out of Print (OOP) pattern?
    Answer: YES! it is. PatternReview.com is not just about reading and writing reviews. It's about inspiring other sewers with your reviews, learning new techniques through each review and comments that follow in that review. And don't forget, we all are pattern stashers, someone might have the pattern you are thinking of reviewing in their stash and it might help them a great deal. So go ahead and review it. We love to read reviews!


  4. What do the abbreviations mean?
    Answer: PatternReview members have helped in compiling a list of abbreviations which people normally use in the reviews and message board posts. Click here to view the list. Using abbreviations in the reviews saves time and space.


  5. What are Favorites?
    Answer: Favorites or Favorite Reviews are the reviews you like the most and would like to save them in one place for future reference. To save items to your favorites list, simple click on the Blue Add to Favorites links (look on the right bar) when you are reading a review. To retrieve your Favorite's List, click on the Favorites link from the left navigation bar.


  6. I cannot find the answer to my question in this list.

  7. What does the "Report Objectionable Post" Button mean on the Message Boards?
    Answer: Advertising and soliciting is strictly prohibited on Message Boards and rest of the site. If you find a post which is not in agreement with our Terms and Conditions, please click that button to report it.


  8. Why did I stop receiving my Topic Tracker E-mails?
    Answer: Message Board Topic Tracker allows you to track your favorite message board topics. You have the option of getting e-mail notifications when new replies are posted to these topics. E-mail notifications are only active upto 180 days from the day you started tracking. After expiration, the system switches the type of tracking to Website only. You can restart the e-mail notification anytime by clicking on Switch to E-mail option from the Topic Tracker.


  9. Where can I see my Favorite Reviewer List?
    Answer: Favorite Reviewers can only be added to your list when you are reading a review written by them. Simply click on the blue "Add to Fav. Reviewers" link and they will be added to your list. To access your favorite reviewer list, go to Your Page (Link from the left navigation bar)


  10. I am using Internet Explorer 7 and can't use any of the buttons on the post message screen on the Message Boards.
    Answer: Message board functions use scripted windows for allowing you to quickly add code to your post. IE 7 has scripted windows disabled by default. To turn it on, please follow these steps :

    Go to Tools >> Internet Options >> Security >> Custom Level. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the list under Scripting and set Allow websites to prompt for information using scripted windows to ENABLED.



  11. What is PR Weekend?
    Answer: PR Weekend is a 2-3 day event for PatternReview.com members. Highlights of the PR Weekend include, fabric shopping, gift swap, show and tell, seminars and trunk shows with a guest, great dining and a lot more... ANSWERS: Interactive Sewing Classes

  1. What is the format of Online Sewing Classes?
    Answer: There are three main modules for Sewing Classes on PatternReview:
    • Class Downloads (PDF files) - These are the main class documents/lessons which will be posted for your class.
    • Q&A Boards/ClassRoom - This is the place to ask questions from the instructors. The Q&A boards are generally open from the day of registration and they close a week after the class is over. It's very important to ask questions. Please remember there is no such thing as a "silly question". We encourage questions!
    • Interactive Real-time chat with the Instructor(s) - In this chat room you'll be able to connect with the class instructors and ask them questions and get answers instantly! The class schedule is written on the class signup page and an email reminder will go out the day the chat is scheduled so you won't miss it. The transcripts of all the chats will be available the next day.
    Links to all the above can be found in the Sewing Classes section on Your Account page.
    At any time during the class the students can ask a question from the instructors on the post Q&A forum. So you only need to be in front of the computer while downloading your lessons (depending on your internet speed and size of the PDF file it could take less than a minute to about 5 minutes to download your lesson) or while chatting with the instructor or when posting a question in the classroom.


  2. How do I register for a Class?
    Answer: Go to the Sewing Classes tab from any page on the site to see a list of all the classes we're currently offering. To see a complete class catalog (of past and present classes) click here. If the registration is open, click on Add to Bag link to add the class to your shopping bag and checkout. Any additional components for the class can be added the same way. If you are a Friends of PR member, you get 10% discount on ALL the Classes. Payment is via PayPal or a Credit Card.


  3. I signed up and paid for a class but there are no lessons to download. Why?
    Answer: The downloads are posted either a day before or on the day the class starts. To see the class timings, please go to Your Account page and scroll down to the Interactive Sewing Classes section. Look under the Class Name for the Class Schedule.


  4. I am registered for a Class but I am unable to download my lessons. Please help!
    Answer: The Class materials will be in the form of an Adobe Acrobat file (.PDF). Please make sure that you have the LATEST VERSION OF Abobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer before you begin downloading the lessons. Adobe Acrobat Reader can be downloaded FREE from this link www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html.


  5. If during the class I have a question for the instructors, how do I contact them?
    Answer: During the Class all questions and discussions must be posted on the Class Board for the class you are registered in. To access Q&A board for the classes you are registered in, go to Your Account and scroll down to the Interactive Sewing Classes section and click on the Q&A board.


  6. I have a question for the instructor before I register for the class. Can I ask a question before registering?
    Answer: Yes, use the Pre-Registration Q&A forum for this. This will be linked from the Sewing Classes Page if the registration is still open.


  7. How do I access my Class?
    Answer: Go to Your Account. It has easy links to all the Classes you registered for complete with the class boards, your lessons and chat transcripts. If your payment is pending it will not show you the class links.


  8. Once signed up for a class, can I cancel and get a refund?
    Answer: If you paid via PayPal or Credit Card, you can get a full refund of the class fee up to 15 days from the day you paid (provided the class has not begun). After 15 days or if the class has begun, we will charge a 5% fee from the payment and rest will be sent to you via PayPal/Credit Card. If paying via check, you can get a 95% refund (a 5% fee will be deducted from the amount). If you signed up for kits and the kits have already been mailed out, you will not be entitled to a refund on the kit fee. Otherwise, the same rules apply for the kit fee.


  9. I've registered for a class, but why do I only see the names of the lessons in the left bar. When will the lessons be made available to me?
    Answer: Check the class schedule. The lessons are posted a day or two before the class begins. Meanwhile please make sure that you have read the welcome e-mail and are familiar with how classes work on PR.


  10. How can I see the status of my order?
    Answer: Go to Your Account page, click on Payments & Credits tab to expand it. Your order and the shipping date (if it's been shipped) should appear in a table under it. For any specific questions, please e-mail support@patternreview.com.


  11. How long can I access my online sewing classes for?
    Answer:Once you've registered for a class, you have access to all the class materials (PDF, Videos, Chat Transcripts, ClassRoom Q&A) indefinitely! All the classes you've registered for appear in the Sewing Classes section in Your Account. Click on the relevant year to display the classes you registered for in that year.
