What is this notion used for? This tool is used to attach to elastic or a drawstring to pull through a casing.

Did you get your money's worth after the purchase?Every sewer should have this tool in their sewing kit. Like everyone else, I learned to pull elastic or a drawstring through a casing by attaching a safety pin to one end. This tool is definitely a step up from the safety pin. The tweezer-like ends have teeth that grip the elastic and there's a little ring that pulls down and tightens the ends so that the elastic is secure. It works like a charm.

Is this notion easily available?Yes -- both online and in stores.

Would you recommend it to others?Definitely.

But for me, if the fabric is thick, I lose the bodkin before the end, and have to pull it, and the elastic out and start over again. I like the plastic ones you thread the elastic through, and then stitch it to itself, and don't cut it off until you are at the end.
