This is software by Radium Technologies. While not specifically for sewers, it's a good general-purpose inventory program. I have used their Living Cookbook software for many years now, and am very happy with their products.

I was searching high and low for a program to inventory my patterns - I'm just starting out in sewing but they seem to collect quickly! What I found specifically for sewers were programs that were either very expensive; apps that required the use of a smart phone (which I don't have); had very poor or very few reviews; were subscription services that meant you lost all of your information when you stopped the service; or were for public use, a la Facebook, and let everyone see who you were and what you had (privacy and portability are paramount to me). I started an Excel spreadsheet as many do but was frustrated with not being able to add pictures (but there are programs you can buy that will do that for you, ha!) and never being truly satisfied with my own tables and charts.

Now understand that this program will not auto-fill your information for you, nor can you take it with you on a smart phone. It is best for those who want a searchable catalog to keep on their home computer. If that's for you, here are the pluses:

-You can add a JPEG picture to the file (yeah!)
-You can also associate any other files you want with it: PDF's, Word docs, etc.
-You can use a bar-code scanner to tag the file and search for items later on.
-There are multiple user input fields so you can choose and customize the information you enter and search and sort by almost any field.
-There are several reports you can run, or create your own.
-You can use it just for patterns, fabrics and sewing equipment, or of course catalog your entire household!
-There's a 30-day free trial download, after which you can purchase a license for download or have a CD-ROM mailed.
-You can also enter information such as price, date of purchase, place of purchase, where your items are stored, and there are multiple fields for general notes as well. I know several people in smaller homes who keep fabric in multiple stashes and I think knowing you have X-yards of Y-fabric in the hall closet or the attic cupboard would be very helpful! Even if you just have boxes in the same location, you could list which box it was in.

This program is for self-starters who are comfortable with creating and inputting all of their own information, so if you have thousands of patterns or don't like the work of creating your own categories and labels, this will not work for you. But if you're a closet librarian or just a super organizer, you may enjoy the flexibility of this very inexpensive program.

Sounds like a database like MS Access. If you have a database program, you could probably do this yourself. That's what I am currently doing and it's the information entry that takes the longest. That's why people like the self-populating apps. I use and like SewingKit now that I have it working again.

Downloaded Trial Version. Very impressed with the program's capabilities & ease of use. I've set up my Singer 301A as my first inventory item. It can't be beat for $29.95.
