Highly Recommend
Made this for more teenage son to wear to a fancy dress costume, so used the cheapest of materials. I was really pleased with the outcome as I hadn't made anything for years.
I was going to use lacing for fastening , but used the shorter neckline by mistake and realized it didn't need any fastening

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes... although the neckline doesn't seem to plunge quite as decadently as on the mode

Easy & Great for Beginners
Pattern Description: Misses, mens and teens poet/pirate shirt with choice of lace up neck, front ruffles, ruffled cuffs, etc. I made view B, with the plain neck and no ruffles.

Pattern Description: This is Simplicity's pattern #3758, by Theresa LaQuey, copyrighted 2007. It's for misses', men's, & teens' pirate/poet shirts. I made shirt "A" for myself; it was the most interesting.
Pattern Sizing: The pattern comes in sizes XS-XL. I made size XL.

Pattern Sizing: I made a men's size large for a size large man (it's on my dress form for photos, I'd do a medium for my size 16 self), and it fit as I expected it to. In my limited experience with Simplicity men's patterns (mostly costumes), I find that they are pretty true-to-size.
