Textile Studio Sewing Pattern Tank Top Shell # 1203
|
Another great wardrobe basic. This pattern features a high neck shell with wide shoulders straps or a tank with lower neckline and thin straps. Both have subtle side shaping without darts and work nicely under our Shawl Collar Jacket or Florence Jacket. Sewing time 45 minutes.
Suggested Fabric:For Tank Top: Designed for soft draping fabrics with some give such as rayon crepe, rayon blends and fine knit jersey. Stable wovens without give, such as linen, cotton, or silk, may be used but please go up a size or two for additional ease.

For Shell: For Knits only. Allow extra fabric for shrinkage if pre-washing, for lengthening, and to match plaids and stripes.

Easy & Great for Beginners
Pattern Description:
"Subtle shaping without darts. No-gap armholes. Shell shoulders conceal most undergarments."
Pattern Sizing: XS-XXL. There is one inch of ease in the bust, and you are advised to go up a size if you fall between sizes, which I did. I'm happy with the fit - it is just right.

WHITE SILK SHELL
This time I used raw silk with a herringbone pattern. After wash-and-dry, it is very soft fluid fabric.

I made 3 of these in August for the contest, so I have to write a review of this pattern that has so many.
First let me say, I am 0 for 5 for independent pattern companies. I love the idea of them, but they always have a fatal flaw. So I was pretty determined not to let this one fail.
