Textile Studio Sewing Pattern Bristol Blouse # 1207
|
A classic easy fitting blouse with collar, self facing front closure with four buttons, and shaped hemline. Two sleeve options: Long sleeve with pleats & one buttons cuffs and short sleeve. View B makes a great casual campshirt. Optional shoulder pads included. Sewing time 3 hours.
Suggested Fabric:For best results use a soft draping fabric such as rayon crepe or textured rayon. Fabric should look the same on both sides as wrong side will show at neck opening. Allow extra fabric to match plaids or stripes, for shrinkage if pre-washing and for lengthening.
Notions:View A: 6 buttons 5/8". View B: 4 buttons 5/8". 1 pair 5/8" shoulder pads.

Recommend, with Modifications Pattern Description: "Easy fitting blouse with collar, 5/8" shoulder pads, self facing front bands with four buttons, and shaped hemline."
I made view A, which has long sleeves and no shoulder pads.
The problem with the under and upper collar pieces reported by earlier reviewers has been rectified - more... |

Recommend, with Modifications I finally did it...I got brave and ordered NICE fabric ("Exquisite White Rayon" from Textile Studio) to make a blouse. Oooh, aaah, I am in love with this fabric! I wear it and keep walking past mirrors and admiring it quite shamelessly. But I should probably get back to the pattern!
So: TS Brist more... |

Highly Recommend UPDATE: This is a very simple blouse pattern, almost generic in its style and fit. You can find a similar blouse pattern in any price range that may work just as well for you. However, I have a special fondness for this one because it was the first independent pattern I used that gave me a worthwhi more... |

Recommend, with Modifications I choose the Bristol Blouse for its flexibility. Based on a Textile Studio review I planned on sizing up - and it works just fine. Directions were easy enough and in making a test blouse with cheap drapey fabric I am very pleased at not having to make any adjustments.. BUT, I ran into a couple of more... |

Highly Recommend I have had this pattern in my stash longer than I care to admit! The Bristol Blouse is a camp shirt with set-in sleeves and a shirt-tail hem. As with other Textile Studio patterns, the pieces are well-drafted, allowing the sleeve to ease into the armscye easily, the collar to fit nicely, and the det more... |
