This 64 page booklet covers all the feet available for your Viking sewing machine. It gives line drawings of each foot (no photos), its use and detailed instructions/tips on how to use. There are two indexes: one listing the feet by name and the other listing techniques. The latter is especially useful when trying to decide the best foot for a technique. Inside the front and back cover are line drawings of all the various feet, enabling the user to identify an unknown foot.
The instructions and tips for using the feet are more detailed than what come in the Viking Accessory User's Guide. For example this book contains 1 1/2 pages on the gathering foot versus 1/2 page in the Accessory Guide. This book also gives alternate uses for many of the feet which is good because many of the uses overlap, thus enabling me to purchase one foot for several purposes instead of several feet.
Although there are no photographs I find the line drawings adequate and in truth often more practical than a photo as I can see some of the details better.
My only complaint about this book is that it is fairly pricey at $25 currently on Ebay. I paid $20 on Ebay three months ago and Johnr55 just paid $30 in a store.
Yes the book does look ''cheap'': it is really more of a booklet being stapled, not bound. But I was looking for a practical book I could use, not a marketing tool to make me buy more accessories. I enjoy my Accessory User's Guide book, but for everyday sewing this Foot Book is more useful. This book is exactly what I was looking for and IMHO could not be any better.

Good review. I have this book and refer to it often because I own just about every Viking foot there is. I think the information in the book is valuable and helpful. Is it expensive? A little. But it's independently printed, not by Viking, and not in huge quantities that help bring the authors' costs down. I don't think anyone has gotten wealthy off the sales. ;-) I certainly don't feel like I was ripped off. I was free to look through at my Viking delaer before I bought it.
I too like this book and got it online at Erica's for only $22. Of course I bought a few other things since there was postage. :) The book is not any more expensive than other books of this type. Any craft book that look like a leaflet of that size is going to be 17-25. And anyway the book is worth it for the information. YES, I recommend it as well.
