Book Index/Chapter headings The book begins with an intro on some common ailments for Featherweights before moving on to caring for the machine, changing parts, and a step by step on how to restore them.
PaperBack or HardBound? The book is spiral bound.
Does this book have clear illustrations or photographs? The illustrations are excellent. The diagrams are very clear and easy to follow.
Would you recommend this book as a MUST HAVE? This book is an absolute must have if you own a Singer 221/Featherweight of any vintage or style. It has saved me several trips and hundreds of dollars to the repair shop.
Using the information in the book, my husband has replaced a tension assembly, re-timed a machine, and fixed a problem with a stop motion wheel (among other little things).
I would also recommend that you consider picking up the DVD by Dave McCallum too. I bought the book as a set with the DVD, and the two items together are worth their weight in gold to me. I could never have figured some of this stuff out on my own.
