Book Index/Chapter headings The book is broken down into tools, techniques, and projects. Each section of techniques and projects tells you the level of difficulty.
PaperBack or HardBound? This is large, heavy 400 page hardback book.
Does this book have clear illustrations or photographs? The book is almost entirely photographs.
Would you recommend this book as a MUST HAVE? Yes, absolutely. One of the early items that I made was a wall-hanging sewing organizer. It was rated as a beginner item. Unfortunately, it had pleats in it without explaining how to do pleats. I grabbed this book and figured it out. Have a problem with facings? The book will walk you through how to interface, constructing the facing, neatening the edge (multiple ways to do so are shown), and then attaching the facing to the garment.
The book even has a section on hand sewing as well as basic sewing machine feet. This book would certainly be in my collection even if I could only have 5 books.
