I came across this book first on Lladybird's Blog. It looked cool but it wasn't until after seeing it all over Pinterest that I decided that I needed it!

This is really a neat little book. It comes in 2 different sizes (6" by 9" and 8.5" by 11"), I choose the smaller size because I wanted it to be portable.

The project pages have room for so much information, the pattern, fabric, notions, planning notes and so much more. There is even a croquis on most pages for visual planning. This is going to be really fun to fill out!

There are even pages at the end to add in your pattern collection, wish list and extra notes.

Cons: I purchased this from (I think this is currently the only place it is available). Unfortunately their printing process took foreverrrr. They also ship by UPS innovations which is so slowww. I was to impatient to receive this.

The plastic coil they use to bind the book makes it very hard to use. Once you start flipping through it is almost impossible to get the pages to lie flat at the coils. Mine started to rip when I tried to fix it. Now, every time I flip through the end of the book I feel like my pages rip even more. It just feels like they used low quality materials.

I know these cons won't sway most people to not buy the book, I just personally wouldn't buy it again knowing these things. I think when I run out of room (which probably won't be for a long, long time) I will just make up my own pages and add them in.

Hi Shaemoor! This is Beth, the author of A Sewist's Notebook. First of all, thank you for taking the time to write a review, your feedback is important to me! Secondly, I've reached out to Lulu on your behalf and they'd be happy to help address the issues with your copy. I have my own version that I carry in my purse (meaning it's beat up all the time!) but I haven't experienced the quality problems you mention. You can contact them on their website, or I can forward you the email they sent to me. You can contact me at sew110creations (at) gmail (dot) com. Thanks!
